The religious leaders saw a threat; Judas saw an opportunity; Peter saw his own strength; and the disciples argued over greatness. In this message from 1 Samuel 25, we walk through the story of Nabal, David, and Abigail to uncover the anatomy of a fool, the danger of revenge, and the grace of God that steps into our worst moments. Nabal had wealth, influence, and a godly family legacy, yet his heart was hardened by pride and selfishness. David, though a man after God’s own heart, nearly let anger destroy his future. But Abigail becomes a picture of grace standing in the gap before destruction takes place. This episode challenges us to examine whether our lives are centered on “I” and “my” or surrendered to the great I AM—and reminds us that Jesus doesn’t rip the barbs out of our hearts; He performs surgery.
