    ADHD diagnosis with Elyssa

    A diagnosis of ADHD in Elyssa's early twenties gave an explanation for so much of her childhood and teenage years. At sixteen Elyssa reached a critical point in her life and felt the need to be physically hurt rather than to be where she was. In this podcast we talk about the early memories where Elyssa felt 'different' and how that played out over the years. We also chat about what she does now as an advocate for mental health and ADHD.     Journey to and from addiction – with Ryan

    Ryan grew up moving from house to house and most of his childhood memories are of his parents fighting. Growing up with no stability and an inability to regulate his emotions Ryan fell into drugs. Drugs were the escape from the feelings and thoughts he didn't know what to do with. It brought connection and comfort through his teenage years until his 18th birthday when it all changed. A moment in time shifted Ryan's mentality and he was about to go through the toughest couple of years he had ever faced... all of those thoughts and feelings couldn't be avoided anymore.     My week from hell- with Denna

    At 16, Denna experienced her own week from hell. Close to her there was an attempted suicide, a suicide and a murder... Denna's life was ultimately flipped upside down. Falling into some unhealthy habits Denna hit many crossroads within her own life until one day she decided to take power back of her own life. This choice led her on an emotional journey which took her down a path of discovery and education. Denna now helps other people who struggle with their own mental wellbeing.     Anxiety and Parenthood (PNA)

    Since having our second son I've suffered scary and intrusive thoughts. I hid them in as I didn't want to be judged or for others to be scared of me. In this podcast I delve deeper into my personal experience with post-natal anxiety and my depth of the suffering. I hope this chat helps others who experience the thoughts that have come through my mind. A friendly reminder that we all have a mind of its own sometime, but it doesn't have to lead to actions :) Make sure you to seek a professional if you feel any of what I speak about the podcast challenging. It started out with Volunteering at Mindfull Aus and has led to many conversations since. This chat is close to both of our hearts and I am extremely grateful for Bec being open to create change in this space for years to come.
