Women's Six Nations: Wales earn bonus point but Red Roses win again

Sara is joined by World Cup winner Kat Merchant and former Wales captain Siwan Lillicrap to reflect on England's victory over Wales. Despite the Red Roses scoring 62 points, there were still plenty of positives for Wales who earned a try-bonus point as Alisha Joyce returns, Keira Bevan shines at nine and their lineout bamboozled England. Despite shipping four tries, the Red Roses completed a record-extending 36th consecutive Test win. Marlie Packer scored another two tries, Zoe Harrison's sensational form off the tee continued, and captain Meg Jones impressed again - is she now nailed on to be World Player of the Year?

Women’s Six Nations: Captains special

The Women’s Six Nations starts on Saturday and ahead of the tournament, Sara Orchard and former Wales captain Phillippa Tuttiett get the lowdown on life in camp with the captains from England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. Sara and Philippa asked the all-important questions, and find out what the fans really want to know; from their ‘girl dinners’, to which celebrity would play them in a film. (To assist with that, Philippa has a little bit of help from AI - and the results are surprising!) The captains come thick and fast – as Sara and Philippa juggle them all during the Six Nations launch. First up is Red Roses skipper Meg Jones. She lets them in on what it’s like being named as captain, new tattoos and the role she will play in the side. Wales captain Kate Williams has a Navy background and tells us her journey from being in New Zealand to playing for Wales. Scotland stalwart Rachel Malcolm is no stranger to these events and tells Sara and Philippa all about the warrior mentality in the group – and Ireland’s Erin King lets us in on how many times it took for her to pass her driving test (spoiler…. it was 13 times!)

Shout out for rugby club Dwingeloo (Netherlands)

Hi guys, I’ve been a listener to the pod since the early days, and still enjoy (5 stars) listening very much. Next weekend 60 players/old players from rugby club Dwingeloo will be traveling to new castle to celebrate the 45th anniversary of our beloved Rugby Club. A lot of the guys will listen to the pod this week in perpetration if the champions cup final. Therefor a nice shout out for the Rugby Club Dwingeloo 45th anniversary would be great. If you want to know how to pronounce the name of our club and village DWINGELOO we kindly invite you guys to join us on the Sunday evening boat back to Holland from new castle to ijmuiden. Hi guys, Big fan of the pod, I listen every week, although I did put off the six nations de-brief as I’m still licking my wounds after England’s 5th place finish. Just finished listening to your sport relief special and your interview with the two lads from Manchester Spartans. Regarding gay teams in rugby: since moving to the Netherlands from the UK I joined Amstelveen RUFC (pronounced Amstel-vayn) who, I was interested to learn, have their own gay team called the Lowlanders. In fact, this summer the club and team are hosting the Bingham Cup. If you, or your listeners, don’t know what the Bingham Cup is or who it is named after - Mark Bingham - then I would urge you to look into as it is both a very sad and incredibly uplifting story. As mentioned, the tournament takes places in Amsterdam this year, starting on June 2nd and running until June 11th. In fact, I even have an apartment in central Amsterdam which you could crash in to record a pod if you wanted.
