    Solo Episode: My time with Gloria, My Thoughts on Motherhood in America

    I had the honor of meeting Thee Gloria Steinem last week because of an incredible organization called Moms First, that's working for practical policy change to make motherhood sustainable for Moms via universal childcare and paid family leave. I wanted to share my experience, and my thoughts on Motherhood in America for you all, so you can feel seen, hopefully deeply validated, and fired up to join in this effort that needs your assistance. I explained the purpose of the Moms First organization and their documentary "No Country for Mothers," and how you can freely become involved, inspired and create more values-aligned community in your area of the world. I gave a little history lesson about Gloria, because most of us weren't adulting during her prime, and in my view, everything about her is illuminating and inspiring. And then I answered 5 talking questions that were the center of the conversation I was privileged to be a part of last week at her apartment.     Healing Generational Wounds with Mark Wolynn

    Mark Wolynn is one of the foremost experts on inherited family trauma and the author of the award-winning It Didn't Start With You — and what he shared in this episode stopped me in my tracks more than once. We go deep on how trauma doesn't just live in our own nervous systems — it travels through generations and through our biology. Through the stories we tell ourselves about who we are and why we struggle. We talk epigenetics, core language, somatic healing, unconscious loyalty to our family systems, and what it actually means to individuate (to come home to yourself)without abandoning the people you love, and also how to do it, without involving those people. Heal Yes. This conversation will expand your understanding of how trauma travels through family bodies, and how to work with that. His book absolutely shifted my own perspective on my family dynamics, and lifted my own shame about how my body had adapted to that. This one is for anyone who has ever felt like they were carrying something that wasn't entirely theirs, and who feels foggy, lost and invalidated in their struggles.     Becoming Authentically Olivia with, Olivia

    I have another amazing mama and woman for you today! One that was once a stranger on the other side of the internet (and country) and has now become yet another incredible woman in my orbit who has both received and provided me (and so so many others) with the life-giving, shame relieving, hope believing, exhale inducing magic that women naturally intuitively freely provide (when they're in the right conditions). Olivia, a mother of two toddlers, talks about her transformation from self-doubting, overextending, body-overriding to being an embodied, intuitive, confident and connected mama and person. I won't stop telling y'all, that all of this abilities and default settings are inside of us, we just need to be supported and guided (for a period of time) to show our bodies that they are no needed anymore.     Marco Polo Mama Convo with Corey

    I have decided to pepper the summer with podcast episodes of the incredible women that are in my phone, that inspire, amuse and reinforce my faith daily that women are brilliant, and are absolutely gonna be alright.  You see, my phone is filled with Marco Polo groups of women that have done Safe Inside (my 6 week somatic coaching container) and Safe in the Shadow (my 6 week somatic group coaching container, only available to those that have done the first one), sharing their lives, their thoughts, their most transformative latest song, their favorite noise cancelling headphones, and their empathy, their wisdom, and their precious lives, with each other. It is truly magical, what happens when you smoosh values-aligned women together, give them some shared somatic healing and a container to connect, and you just see what ancient engrained instincts come forward in their cars after drop off, at their office desks, and in the stolen moments they can find with each other. Corey and I talk about her story parenting a spicy strong-willed sweetie pie and how that was her catalyst into this level of healing, how her dynamic with this child and all of her children has shifted, and how she has settled into "realness" in her home, for everyone that lives there, absolutely including her.     Our Inner Children with Nicole Polidano

    I was a guest on Nicole's Podcast "Heal Out Loud," and the convo was so darn good, I wanted to copy and paste and make sure my people got to experience it too. We went deep into what it actually means to love yourself — not the aesthetic version, not the bubble bath version, but the version that makes loneliness lose its grip. The version that stops you from needing someone else in the room to feel whole. We (of course) talked about the nervous system, and the inner child, and the essential relational experiences with yourself that nobody ever taught you to have, that repair and rewrite what we internalized about ourself and our feelings. Nicole and I talked about real life ways we wonkily relate to ourselves in the middle of life logistics, and in response to life logistics. For me personally, I feel a new level of clarity and embodiment of my authority as a teacher, and public figure, and this episode with Nicole felt so safe for me to articulate my work and what I want you all to know.     Powerful Parenting with Wendy Snyder

    Oooo this is such a timely and potent episode with the light, wise and innovative Wendy Synder, Parent Coach and author of the forthcoming book Fresh Start Your FamilyPowerful Parenting to Restore Peace in Your Home. Having been in the parenting field for roughly two decades each, Wendy and I explore what it really means to parent with both firm boundaries and deep connection without falling into shame, fear, or control. We tackle the tricky balance many modern parents struggle with of how to discipline your child without yelling, how to stay connected when your nervous system is on fire, and how to raise strong, emotionally healthy kids while repeating our own old patterns with less intensity, frequency, and shame. We unpack the truth behind positive parenting vs. permissive parenting, and why the real goal is powerful, connection-based parenting where rules plus relationship equal respect (heal yes!). I share a real-life parenting moment from my own home (hello, dishwasher standoff), and we break down exactly how to move from guilt, frustration, and reactivity into grounded, authoritative leadership that actually works.     Secure Parenting with Tricia Wilson

    This episode with Tricia Wilson, fellow facilitator of the Circle of Security Training, hits to the root of all we need to know as parents. Circle of Security is a simple, powerful way of understanding what children actually need from us. Essentially, it shows us that kids move out into the world to explore (the top of the circle), and then come back to us for comfort, connection, and regulation (the bottom of the circle). Our role is to be the “secure base” they can go out from, and the “safe haven” they can return to—watching over them, delighting in them, helping when needed, and welcoming them back when things feel hard. That’s it. Not perfection—just presence. I was introduced to this framework as a clinician when my children were small, and it organized my parenting and helped me streamline my energy to the place of the highest importance, I tell may anecdotes in the episode to illustrate what Circle of Security did for me (and my kids)! And this isn’t just a nice idea—it’s deeply rooted in decades of attachment research. From Bowlby’s early work on attachment, to Mary Ainsworth’s observations of how children organize around safety, to modern neuroscience showing how co-regulation literally shapes the developing nervous system—this model reflects what we know to be true: children thrive when they experience consistent, attuned, and repairing relationships. Security isn’t built through getting it right every time. It’s built through connection, rupture, and repair. Tricia is also a mother of 5, she birthed three boys who she parented the traditional high control/high punishment way, and then adopted two girls who had experiences attachment trauma, pushing her to find something that actually worked.
