    From Tweens to Twenties: Building the Scaffolding and Learning When to Let Go

    In this episode of What the Feeling?, I’m joined by my dear friend and fellow parent, Fabiana, as we explore the emotional truth behind the transition from tweens to teens and into the twenties - and how parenting seems to involve constantly adjusting the balance between holding on and letting go. Together, we talk about the foundations we build in the early years, the scaffolding that supports growing independence, and the challenge of knowing when to step in and when to step back (usually about five minutes after we’ve already stepped in). From both perspectives - being a parent and being parented - we reflect on how relationships evolve as children grow and roles begin to change. This is a conversation about connection, trust, and learning to laugh a little at ourselves while figuring it all out. Because parenting doesn’t come with a manual - and neither does growing up.
