The Season After - Episode 3 in a 3-Part Series Featuring Guest, Ed Doherty

Life is made up of seasons. Some arrive with excitement and possibility. Others bring unexpected change, loss, waiting, or uncertainty. In this 3-episode series, Carrie sits down with author, speaker, and leadership consultant, Ed Doherty, to explore how every season of life (whether chosen or not) has the power to shape who we become. In Episode 1, we explored how to recognize the season you're in and why resisting change often creates more struggle than growth. Episode 2 examined how life's most difficult seasons can become our greatest teachers, revealing strengths and wisdom we never knew we possessed. Now, in the final episode of the series, Carrie and Ed turn their attention to what comes next. What happens when one chapter closes? How do we let go of the identity we've outgrown and embrace the possibilities waiting in the next season? Whether you're facing an empty nest, retirement, a career transition, the loss of someone you love, a health challenge, or simply feeling called toward something new, this conversation is an invitation to see endings not as failures, but as beginnings. Together, Carrie and Ed discuss why reinvention is possible at any age, how curiosity and purpose can guide us into our next chapter, and why some of life's greatest opportunities don't appear until we're willing to leave the familiar behind. If you've ever wondered, "What's next for me?" this episode is for you. Because every ending is also the beginning of a new season - and sometimes, the best chapters of our lives are still waiting to be written!

The Seasons That Change Us - Episode 2 in a 3-part Series About the Seasons That Shape Us

Life isn't meant to stay the same. We move throughseasons of growth, challenge, joy, loss, reinvention, waiting, and renewal. Yet many of us spend our lives fighting the season we're in instead of learning from it. In this special series, leadership consultant, author, and speaker, Ed Doherty, joins Carrie to explore 'the seasons that shape us'. In today's episode, we talk about 'the season that change us' and explore some of the lessons hidden within those seasons, and how embracing change can lead to a richer, more meaningful life. The fact is that there are seasons we would never volunteer for - and growth happens underground, just like it does in winter. Do you think life teaches lessons vs. punishments? It's all about perspective and mindset. How do we stop asking 'why is this happening to me?' and start asking 'what is this trying to teach me?' Maybe today's episode can help YOU get there! In this episode, Core Theme: Growth often comes through difficulty. "When we look back at our lives, why do the hardest seasons often become the most transformational?" Unnecessary Stress: The Friction You Might Be Creating in Your Own Life

We all have stress in life that we can’t control - loss, uncertainty, responsibilities, health concerns, work pressure, family dynamics. But what about the stress we create ourselves without even realizing it? In this episode, I’m talking about the hidden ways we add unnecessary friction to our own lives: avoiding hard conversations, staying stuck in unresolved relationships, holding onto resentment, living with one foot in and one foot out, failing to express gratitude, and letting fear or pride keep us from peace. This isn’t about blame. It’s about awareness. Because when you start noticing the patterns that are draining your energy, you also start creating more space for joy, connection, clarity, and calm. If you’ve ever felt like life feels heavier than it should, this episode is an invitation to ask a powerful question: Am I making this harder than it needs to be? A “stress and joy audit” for listeners - here are a few questions to ask yourself this week: 1. What is creating tension in my life right now that has gone unaddressed for too long? 2. Is there a relationship where I’m living in limbo instead of making a decision or having a conversation? 3. Am I holding onto resentment that is costing me more than it’s protecting me? 4. Is there someone in my life who shows up for me consistently that I haven’t truly thanked? 5. Where am I making life harder than it needs to be through avoidance, indecision, or silence? 6. What would create more peace in my life right now: a conversation, a boundary, a decision, an apology, or gratitude?
