    Today's guest is Jana Michailidu, advisor to the Czech Ministry of Justice on addiction policy and a researcher at the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague. January 1st 2026 multiple drug policy reforms will come into action in the Czech Republic, including regulation of homegrown cannabis, regulated sale of kratom and psilocybin regulated for medical use in therapy.     #40 - Revealing the Missing Link to Climate Justice: Drug Policy

    The Amazon rainforest is one of the most biodiverse ecosystems on our planet and home to many people, including indigenous peoples. But the rainforest is under threat, deforestation is escalating and we are fast approaching a "tipping point" which could have dire consequences for life on this planet. In November 2025 the world's countries will come together for the COP and negotiate how to deal with the climate crisis. We know a lot about the drivers of deforestation, but one mechanism has been under-communicated and remains rather unknown. Coincidentally this mechanism is clearly visible in Belém, the city in Brazil where this year's COP will take place: the illicit cocaine industry. This is an episode you do not want to miss! Our guest is Neil Woods, a committed drug reform and environmental activist. Neil's field of expertise is corruption stemming from the financial power of the drug markets, which he witnessed first hand as an undercover cop in England.     Prohibition has utterly and completely failed. Today's guest, Steve Rolles from the UK based Transform Drug Policy Foundation, illustrates the failures of the current system, and maps out a way forward. In order to increase health, stabilize communities and decrease violence, he argues that all drugs should be legalized. We touch on advocacy strategies, the reform movement across the globe, the weakening of global institutions, the Trump administration, and whether legal cocaine is necessary to save the rainforests. Episoden er på engelsk.     Alle var enige om at mennesker med rusavhengighet ikke skulle utsettes for straff, men medfører rusforliket at det nettopp blir rusmiddelavhengige som særlig utsettes for straff? I dagens episode snakker vi med Kenneth Arctander Johansen, daglig leder i RIO - en landsdekkende brukerorganisasjon på rusfeltet. Kenneth har satt sitt preg på ruspolitikken de siste årene, og har vært en utrettelig forkjemper for at mennesker som bruker rusmidler skal møtes med respekt og likeverd. I episoden forteller Kenneth om stigmatisering av de som bruker rusmidler, og hva slags konsekvenser dette fører med seg i form av dårlig helse og legitimering av undertrykkende praksiser.
