    Shame is an emotion that we all can relate to at some point, and possibly still feel the weight of. It is a burden that you were never meant to carry, and for many of us, we don’t even realize that we are carrying it because we have learned it from childhood, the world’s culture and from painful experiences in the past. This episode will expose the tactic of the enemy on using shame, and set your forward in the right direction of freedom and realigning with your beloved identity as daughters of the King.     The Dark Night of the Soul, with Karen Sand

    Second in the "Woman of God series", we are looking into the concept of suffering & hardship. For a long time, I had no real theology for the concept of suffering, and so when I was hit with a season of hardship, I was quick to become angry at God, and I didn't manage my heart very well at all. That was, until I spoke with Karen and her husband Haavard, who helped me understand the concept of the dark night of the Soul, and that God was looking for my heart. In this dialogue, we share parts of our own stories of trials and hardships, and hold them to the light of the scriptures to see what God has to say about these seasons.     Health body & soul

    I want to start sharing some of the gold nuggets that have propelled me forward in my Heath journey the last year. My choices are definitely not very orthodox, I have been really influenced by the animal-based way of life, and have seen amazing results. In this episode I touch on many various things I have learnt, both for mental health and body health. It’s a lot of info, and I recommend that you do you own research. I am not a doctor, but I have never felt better in my life. I have a value for thriving in health- body, soul & spirit, and so I hope that this episode will empower you to begin implementing whatever changes you deem necessary for your own journey. Next week we will talk about creating boundaries to protect your health.

    Beauty: Body health

    We can’t talk about #beauty without talking about the issue of #health. Health for Spirit, Soul & #body . Our soul is summarized by our mind, will & emotions, and we have been covering health for the soul through the “beautify your heart” posts and podcast. Your Spirit - that’s the part that got #bornagain and is faultless before God. Your spirit is gorgeous, just like Jesus! The Christian life is about being led by the Spirit, and by the Grace of God, allowing His Spirit to sanctify us both in soul and body. We haven’t finished talking about your #soul yet, and there’ll be plenty more to come on that, but now I also want to introduce to you the element of your BODY. How do you feel when we start to talk about nutrition & exercise? Is it a trigger? Is it exciting? Dear ladies, I want to tell you that you are SO WORTH the #selfrespect that it takes to eat healthily and to work out. I know that this road is not a smooth one for many. Perhaps it’s full of dents, rocks, and fallen trees. You may get triggered, but we are doing this together. The road to health can involve beheading the beast of #bodyimage and confronting the demon of #selfhatred but this is your territory to take back, and take ownership of. A huge part of ownership is actually receiving, and most of the time, we don’t know what we’ve been given because of things like shame or lies from the enemy. We’re going to work on this together.     Beauty: Beautify your heart

    One of the most offensive bible verses for many of you has been 1 Peter 3:1-6, but what if we've just been reading it through a distorted lens, troubled by our own painful experiences, and the murk of sin? What if there is a true gem hidden within here, a secret that reveals the root causes for the kind of beauty that had preserved Sarah's beauty into her old age? This episode explores this scripture and unpacks what the writer is truly saying. We are going to take a look at three major factors of beauty: purity, a life lived in reverence, and the behavior that flows out of that. I think we have misread "quiet & gentle spirit" as "quiet & gentle personality", but these virtues are held in contrast to fear. We are told, in regards to Sarah, "You are her daughters if you do what is right and do not give way to FEAR". A quiet and gentle spirit is the fruit of a heart at peace, a heart that is free from fear, hatred, bitterness, etc. This charge from Peter is not that you shut yourself down at all... this is a charge to live a life of boldness and purity in the things of the Lord. And these each contribute to a firm foundation for a kind of beauty that lasts, attracts others to the Lord, and leave you living alive, free & prosperous within!
