Superb podcast! I’m an amateur with no formal musical training and am still able to follow Kirk’s explanations of basic and advanced musical concepts. Excellent song selection, great analysis, engaging host. Highly recommended!

A truly great podcast. Presented in a way that is both accessible and informative - and at a level that is understandable for someone who doesn’t play an instrument, while still being super entertaining and interesting for a semi-professional musician of 20 years. Many of the episodes have moved me to tears and taught me new things about songs I know REALLY well. I’ve just enjoyed the John Williams/Mingus-themed episode immensely, very well edited, and you’ve just got to love the enthusiasm with which the topics are presented, and the knowledge of the people presenting them.
