Talking is Therapy, and Listening is Power. Sharing real, vulnerable, and empowering conversations about life, growth and the human experience, to inspire you to lead with courage, embrace the chaos, and stop letting fear get in the way of living your dream life. The less alone we realise we are in the hard times, the more we see how capable we are of going after what we want, not when we’re ready or perfect, but right now. Listening shows us that the people living their dreams are human too: they have their own doubts, struggles, and setbacks, but keep moving anyway. IG @christinapengilly

#16 | Sophie Jayne Miller - Losing Her Mum at 13 & What Grief Actually Looks Like

Thank you for being here. This episode speaks openly about grief, loss and the death of a parent. If today isn't the day for this one, honour that. We are sending you so much love. 🤍 This is one of the most special conversations I have ever had not just on Talk Therapy, but in my life. My beautiful friend Sophie Jayne Miller - full time creator, entrepreneur, cookbook author and one of the most genuinely extraordinary humans I know, sat down with me to talk about something very close to her heart. Sophie lost her mum Jayne to breast cancer when she was 13. This episode is about what grief actually looks like. Not the version we are told it should look like - but the real, messy, complicated, sometimes wtf?, sometimes devastating truth of living with loss for over a decade. We get into: Only knowing your mum through a 13 year old's eyes - and grieving someone you can barely rememberThe anger that comes with grief and why it is completely validThe moments grief sneaks up on you years later - at the supermarket, at your wedding, scrolling social mediaWhy the anniversary is never the hardest day - it's always the random ThursdayThe guilt of being happy, successful and thriving after lossWhy pushing away anything feminine is a response Soph experiencesWhat support actually looks like - and why avoiding the topic makes it so much worseHow to be a friend to someone grieving without making it weirdKeeping someone's memory alive through the small everyday moments"I don't need a solution. I just need you to see me."The last thing Jayne ever said to Soph, and how that impacts her today. This conversation is for anyone navigating grief right now. Anyone who lost someone a long time ago and still feels it in the most unexpected moments. And anyone who has ever wondered how to show up for a friend through loss without saying the wrong thing. Grief is never just sadness. It is everything, all at once, forever. And that is okay. Go follow Soph - @sophiejanemiller across Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. Get her cookbook. Binge her content. She is the best of the best 🤍 Tag me in your stories (@christinapengilly) & share this with someone who needs it 💌 📲 Instagram🤍 Personal YouTube❤️ Talk Therapy YouTube Episodes drop weekly on Wednesdays. We are sending you so much love. 🤍 This is the most powerful conversations I have ever had on Talk Therapy. My friend of 15 years, Kellie Finlayson - bestselling author, keynote speaker, mum and truly one of the most extraordinary humans I know, sat down with me to share her story. Kellie was diagnosed with stage four bowel cancer just three months postpartum. She has been living with that diagnosis for almost four years. And if you met her on the street, you would never know. This episode is not about Kellie's diagnosis, it's about how she chooses to show up when life gave her no choice. We get into: Kellie's diagnosis - what led to it, what was missed and the seven years it took to get answersBeing three months postpartum and receiving a terminal diagnosisWhy her daughter Sophia is the only reason she gets out of bed on the hardest daysWhat support actually looks like - and why the people closest to her forget she has cancerBeing called Belle Gibson 2.0 and told she should be in jail - and why she finds it hilariousThe waterfall analogy that will change the way you think about resilience foreverWhy she never plays the cancer card - even when she absolutely couldChoosing to travel, live and say yes - with stage four cancer and half a lungHow to advocate for yourself when doctors dismiss youWhat she would say to anyone sitting in a waiting room right now not being taken seriouslyWhy the people who have been through the hardest things are always the ones still showing upKellie is proof that you can be in the trenches of the hardest thing imaginable and still choose to find the light. Not because it is easy. Because it is the only option worth choosing. Go follow Kellie and get her book - links below. And if you know someone who needs to hear this today, please share it with them. #13 | Why Not You? How to Back Yourself & Build the Life You Actually Want

Thank you for being here ❤️ My Protein Ball Ebook is HEREEE! Linked here xx This episode is for the person who keeps watching other people live the life they want and telling themselves it's just not for them. The one who has the dream, the desire, the knowing - but keeps waiting for permission that is never coming. Today's conversation is a simple but life changing question. Why not you? We get into: Why seeing someone else achieve your goal is actually evidence that it's possible for youThe difference between comparing yourself to someone's step ten when you're at step oneWhy your dreams are absolute - and what that actually meansMoving with conviction without arrogance - the difference and why it mattersWhy closed mouths don't get fed and asking for what you want is a skill not arroganceHow to stop apologizing for your ambition to make other people comfortableWhy the people meant for your journey will never be intimidated by your growthWanting a different life but still seeking approval from people committed to staying the sameSelf belief is built through evidence not intentionWhy most people quit right before the snowball starts rollingThe biggest risk in your life right now - and it's not what you thinkI also get really honest about the seasons where I played small, diluted what I wanted and waited for permission I never needed in the first place. You can either choose discomfort now or regret later. Either way you are going to feel it. So you may as well feel it moving towards the life you know you are here to live. This is the episode I want you to relisten to. Write notes. Put them on your wallpaper. Send it to someone who needs it. #12 | Overcome Anxiety & Overwhelm to Achieve Your Dreams

Thank you for being here!! This episode is for the person who has been sitting on their dreams for TOOOO long. The one who knows they are capable of so much more but keeps waiting for the right time, the right feeling, the right moment of confidence (Spoiler - the 'right time' is never coming) Today I am expanding on the quote that genuinely changed my life and the way I relate to anxiety, overwhelm and fear forever. Ambition without action equals anxiety. We get into: Why you are not anxious because of what you have to do - but what you are yet to doThe difference between temporary relief through procrastination and actual relief through actionWhy your brain exaggerates every task and how to stop letting it run the showThe rubbish bin analogy that will change the way you think about mental load foreverHow open loops are stealing your capacity to go after what actually mattersWhy anticipation is almost always more painful than the realityThe 15 minute rule that will get you started on anythingA practical brain dump exercise to clear your mental load todayWhy confidence is just competence - and competence only comes through doingI also get really honest about my own experience! This episode is not here to make you feel good for ten minutes and then go back to doing nothing. I want you to leave this one and actually move. So consider this your sign. If there is someone in your life who needs a loving kick up the bum - share this one with them. And if this lands for you I would love to hear from you. #10 | This is Why You're Not Confident.. Q&A.

In this episode we are doing something a little different and much more casual! Think a life update, bestie catch up, and me answering all of your questions. Think less podcast, more just two besties sitting down and chatting about all the things. I give you a little life update including my trip back home to Adelaide, navigating being a long distance daughter with everything going on with my beautiful dad, and my very chaotic experience at the most incredible influencer event I have ever been to!! We get into your questions: People pleasing - why it's actually not the selfless thing you think it isHow to let go of friendships that no longer serve you (without the guilt)How to know when you've outgrown friends - even long term onesThe number one thing that actually builds confidence Setting boundaries in friendships without ruining themHow to start putting yourself first without overhauling your entire lifeHow to deal with homesickness when the people you love are far awayHow I started my wellness and gym journey - and tips for anyone just starting out If you love being here as much as I love having you here, I would absolutely love to hear from you!!
