    41. 10 Days of Silence (Vipassana) Changed Nothing — And Everything

10 Days of Silence Changed Nothing — And Everything No phone. No talking. No eye contact. No distractions. Just you, your breath, and every part of yourself you've been avoiding. I just got back from my seventh Vipassana meditation retreat. My first in six years. And I want to tell you everything. Vipassana means insight meditation — it's the exact technique the Buddha practiced under the Bodhi tree 2,500 years ago. It's not religious. There's nothing to believe in or recite. All you do is observe your breath and the sensations in your body. Simple. Brutally hard. And more life-changing than anything I've ever done. In this episode I share: 🧘 The four reasons I keep going back — including why I do it specifically BECAUSE it's hard🧠 Why nervous system capacity doesn't grow through comfort — it grows through safely experiencing discomfort🔇 What 10 days of zero stimulation actually does to an overstimulated brain😮 Why this retreat — after six years away and more going on in my life than ever — produced the deepest states of bliss I've ever experienced🦵 The extraordinary thing that happened with physical pain — and why the times I resisted hurt the most⏱️ Why 10 days won't change your life — but 36,000 seconds a day of choosing to come back instead of escape will change you from the inside out🌿 What Vipassana confirms about the mind, the body, and where ALL suffering actually begins The most radical act of self-confidence is sitting with yourself. Quietly. Without running. This episode is for anyone who feels overstimulated, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves — and is ready to understand what their mind is truly capable of. 35. Outer Chaos, Inner Calm: The Breath Practice that Builds Confidence with Author & Breathwork Facilitator, Anthony Abbagnano

What if the most powerful tool for clarity, confidence, and calm… has been with you your entire life? In this episode, I sit down with Anthony Abbagnano—author of Outer Chaos, Inner Calm and founder of Alchemy of Breath—who has trained thousands of facilitators worldwide and spent over 40 years in the wellness space. We dive into something deeper than the “breathwork” you might be thinking of. This isn’t about forcing, pushing, or intense techniques. This is about conscious connected breathing—a simple, grounded, and powerful practice that helps you move out of your head… and back into your body. Because the truth is:You can’t think your way into confidence. You have to feel safe enough in your body to become it. In this conversation, we explore:– How your breath is directly linked to inner self-confidence– Why most people are disconnected from their breath (and what it’s costing them)– The difference between suppressing emotions vs actually processing them– How to find calm when your external world feels chaotic– A simple, practical breathing technique you can use immediately– The biggest misconception about breathwork (and why it doesn’t need to be “hard” or extreme to be effective) Anthony shares how conscious connected breathing allows you to move from:self-doubt → self-trustoverwhelm → claritychaos → calm And most importantly—how to start, even if you’ve never done anything like this before. 34. Stop Blaming Your Parents, Partner & Perimenopause

This might be a controversial episode, but everything I do is deeply rooted in compassion. This episode is no different. We need to talk about something nobody in the wellness space is saying out loud. We have more licensed psychologists than ever before in history. More therapy apps, more mental health awareness, more diagnoses, more labels, more validation than any generation before us. And yet we have more depressed, anxious, stressed and medicated humans than ever. So is validation alone actually healing us? In this episode, I'm talking about: 🔥 Why we've swung too far from suppression into a validation trap that's keeping women stuck🔥 The labels we hide behind — ADHD, anxiety, narcissistic abuse, perimenopause, attachment styles — and the question nobody is asking: what are we actually DOING about it?🔥 Why most psychologists are validating pain without moving people forward🔥 Why social media is great for validation but NOT the place people actually get better🔥 The difference between explanation and transformation🔥 What TRUE compassion actually looks like🔥 Why inner capacity doesn't come through comfort — and what 20 minutes a day can actually do for your life🔥 Why the first four weeks of my 90 Days to Inner Self-Confidence program are dedicated entirely to building inner capacity through discomfort Your diagnosis is not your destiny.Your past is not your prison.Your hormones are not your identity. Your past informs you, it doesn't define you. You are a human with an extraordinary capacity to heal — and all it takes is the courage to do the uncomfortable work. 32. Sorry I Haven't Texted You Back with Author Alicia Cook

"Sorry I Haven't Texted You Back" isn't about being flaky—it's a nervous system snapshot. In this powerful conversation, Katie sits down with poet Alicia Cook, bestselling author of Stuff I've Been Feeling Lately and the viral poem Sorry I Haven't Texted You Back, to unpack why so many women go silent when life gets overwhelming. This isn't about avoidance or laziness. It's about freeze and fawn—survival responses women learn early to stay safe, likable, and low-maintenance. In this episode, we explore: Why women disappear when they're struggling (and why it's not weakness—it's disconnection from the body)How freeze and fawn show up in relationships, work, and everyday lifeThe turning point when Alicia realized: "I don't owe everyone access to me"What regulation looks like in real life (not theory)Alicia's sobriety journey and the benefits of getting honest with herselfWhat inner self-confidence actually means—and how it changes everything This conversation will validate every woman who's ever gone quiet, apologized for existing, or stayed "nice" when she wanted to scream. If you've ever felt safer disappearing than disappointing someone, this episode is for you.
