14 | Why the Void Feels So Strong - Trauma, Triggers & the Hunger Only God Can Fill

There’s a void… A quiet, unsettled space inside you that feels like it needs something. It's not always loud or obvious but it's there and when it rises, you don't always stop and think about it, you respond by reaching for something ...food, substances, staying busy, overachieving… Not because you’ve decided to but because your body already knows what to do because it remembers what brought comfort or took the edge off, what helped you cope when something felt overwhelming or uncomfortable before. So when that feeling shows up again…your response is often automatic which is not a lack of discipline, it's a learned pattern. In this weeks episode we gently unpack what’s really happening in those moments so you can begin to understand your responses without judgement, and learn a new way to meet that space Why your responses make sense (even when you don’t like them)How triggers form and why your body reacts so quickly The connection between stress, adrenaline, and decision-makingWhy you reach for comfort (even when it doesn’t truly satisfy)The “window” where your body functions best and what happens outside of itThat void you feel was never meant to be filled by food, distraction, or anything temporary. It was created for God. Last week, we practiced the pause This week, we take it one step further and when you notice that moment, I encourage you to invite God into it. Simply say “Lord… here I am, this is what I’m feeling, I don’t fully understand it… but You do” We know this because Psalm 139 reminds us that He has searched us and He knows us. He understands our thoughtseven before we can put them into words so you don’t have to come to Him with everything figured out, you just come. Psalm 139:1–4 (NKJV)“O Lord, You have searched me and known me…You understand my thought afar off…For there is not a word on my tongue,But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether.” https://linktr.ee/felitasplace

13 | Why You Keep Reaching for Food - And How to Break the Cycle

Have you ever found yourself standing in the kitchen… not really hungry… but still reaching for food? You know your body doesn’t need it but something in you feels unsettled… empty… or overwhelmed. In this episode, we go deeper than behaviour, because this isn’t just about food. It’s about what’s happening underneath. In This Episode We gently unpack: Why you reach for food when you're not actually hungryHow emotional eating is often a response to deeper needsThe connection between your thoughts, your feelings, and your habitsHow patterns around food can begin early in life - and be carried forwardWhy will power alone doesn't create lasting changeand most importantly...how to begin breaking the cycle in a way that is gentle, practical, and grounded in truth. Food didn't become a problem later in life... it became a solution very early. And just because something was learned, doesn't mean it has to stay. You're not lacking discipline. In those moments where you feel the pull toward food ... there is always a thought driving it and while those thoughts feel true, they aren't always aligned with truth. The real battle isn't about food, it's about your thoughts. Instead of trying to control the behaviour, we learn to pause and respond differently. Instead of fighting cravings with willpower, you can meet them with truth. And most importantly… How to begin breaking the cyclein a way that is gentle, practical, and grounded in truth. Key Truth Food didn’t become a problem laterin life… it became a solution very early. And just because something waslearned… doesn’t mean it has to stay. The Real Battle You’re not lacking discipline. In those moments where you feelthe pull toward food… there is always a thought drivingit: And while those thoughts feeltrue… they aren’t always aligned withtruth. Because the real battle isn’tabout food… It’s about your thoughts. A Practical Way Forward Instead of trying to control thebehaviour… we learn to pause and responddifferently. When you feel the pull, tryasking: Often the answer isn’t food. It’s rest… comfort… connection…peace. And the only one who can trulysatisfy those needs is God.   Renewing Your Mind with Truth Instead of fighting cravings withwillpower… you can meet them with truth. This isn’t about restriction. It’s about freedom… and learning to nourish and care for your body, not punish it. Helpful Resource If you want support with this inreal time, the app I Deserve a Donut is a powerful tool. It helps you: Almost like having a guidedconversation when you need it most. This Week’s Focus Don’t try to change everything. Just practice one thing: Pause. Even once. Because that moment of awareness is where change begins. A Gentle Reminder You’re not someone who is out ofcontrol with food. You are someone who is learning torespond differently to what you feel. And that is a completely differentdirection.

09 | The Hidden Way Stress Affects Your Relationship With God

Have you ever wondered why you feel distant from God even though you’re praying and wanting to feel close to Him? Many sincere Christian women quietly experience seasons where their spiritual life feels flat or harder to access. They still believe in God. They still pray. But the sense of peace and connection they once felt seems more difficult to reach. In this episode of Renewed & Radiant, we explore a truth many people have never been taught: chronic stress doesn’t just affect your energy, it also affects your brain, your nervous system, and your ability to experience calm, reflection, and spiritual awareness. You’ll discover: • how stress hormones influence the brain • why your mind may struggle to slow down in prayer • how the nervous system affects spiritual awareness • why seasons of spiritual flatness are often connected to a tired nervous system rather than weak faith We’ll also explore God’s invitation to rest through scriptures like Psalm 46:10, Psalm 37:7, Isaiah 30:15 and Exodus 14:14, and how simple rhythms like prayer, movement, breathing, and time outside can help your body settle so your awareness of God’s presence can return naturally. If you’ve been feeling spiritually distant lately, this episode may help you understand why and remind you that God has never moved away from you.
