Thank you for addressing female pain and the lack of importance paid to it. I have been refused epidurals twice (during the early stages of two births) I think because the (same) midwife didn’t agree and thought I should driver ‘naturally’ and she ignored my pleas. I felt utterly powerless and so frustrated. This sound like a horrendous situation for these women and I hope more practitioners acknowledge that if a man were asserting their desire to relief it would be dealt with better.

Interesting topic, it never ceases to amaze me how often women’s procedures are done with inadequate pain management. However I found the story telling long and drawn out in order to sound profound so it was a little insufferable.
