For the love of God listen to this podcast! A deeply personal and honest account of being gay and loving God and allowing both to be alive and free! His story of self-acceptance is one led out of a deep faith and his emerging understanding of God parallels his emerging acceptance of self. Matt has the gift of not allowing hate or negativity towards the church or to the Christian faith be his guiding narrative. I was captured by how well he articulated the complexities of faith and sexuality and listened to the whole series in a day! For the gay person who is struggling with faith, self acceptance or just needs to know others have been on this road and it is possible to travel it- this podcast is a great encourager. For those more conservative evangelicals who don’t know what to think, don’t know any gay person, or are helping support one… I hope you’ll listen openly to this series and see Matt’s utter integrity, genuine love for God, and now love for himself and that this may offer you a glimpse into a different framing of faith and help move you towards a full and inclusive acceptance of all LGBTIQ+ people, including those of faith.
