I am a New Zealand based fly fisherman, guide and Youtuber and this is my attempt at a podcast!!! It is basically just me talking with with people I find interesting throughout the sport about all things fishing and whatever other random tangent we go off on!

    EPISODE 5 - Jamie Howard

    Jamie Howard grew up fishing in native Virginia and found his way into the creative world of New York advertising as a copywriter. After the creative world took him around the world shooting commercials and dreaming up ideas for corporate America it all came to a halt after the events of 9/11 hit New York. He left and started from scratch with his own production company, Howard Films and left the confines of the big city to write and produce and try to convince the TV world he had something worth watching. The long and thankless process broke through with his first project on bonefishing in the Bahamas and was followed by sports channel miniseries on Tarpon and other fish. Most recently, Running the Coast on the migration of the striped bass. A 4 year production odyssey that was the longest ever commitment for the award-winning production company. Through it all, The fishing never stopped and most recently Jamie was with Gene in New Zealand. No cameras. Just fish. Gene and I caught up with Jamie and got in to just what got him started and what it takes to plan, film and edit a 4 year long project!  Oh and we also may have solved the Corona vaccine issue...     I got lucky and sweet talked Jeff Forsee into the podcast.  Jeff is a Wanaka based guide from the States who has been in NZ for the last decade.  A shit ton of experience and passion behind him makes him one fishy dude!  He has spent a lot of years fishing in Alaska, guiding in Mongolia for Taimen and also lots of overseas trips doing salty, exploration and general cool stuff.   He is one of nicest guys you will meet and knows more about fly fishing than most.  He still just loves to fish and just gets out there and goes after it.  We talk about all those things and a bit more so grab a coffee and clear the next hour and a bit of your day..     EPISODE UNO!

    Well we have been talking about doing this for ages now and since we've got a ton of time on our hands now, figured it's a good time to give this a nudge.  So, true to form, we popped a beer and got in to it with no real plan and certainly no idea what we are doing! Bear in mind this is our first attempt and as long as at least 9  people like this , we will do more and improve the quality as we go.  As it stands, we talk about tactics as we come in to the winter months, things to help you prepare for a trip to NZ and how great Doom Eternal is on the Playstation.
