
Abdul Khaliq Allie
Abdul Khaliq Allie is a South African Islamic scholar and community leader. He serves as the First Deputy President of the Muslim Judicial Council (MJC) in Cape Town and holds roles with organisations such as the United Ulama Council of South Africa and the Western Cape Religious Leaders Forum. Born in 1962, he earned his Islamic sciences degree (Alimiyyah) in 1986. He served as imam at Malmesbury Mosque from 1984 to 2005 and taught religious classes at Malmesbury Prison. His work also includes founding the Sinethemba Foundation to promote HIV/AIDS awareness. He has held leadership positions including Secretary of the Boland Islamic Council (1992–1994), Security Inspector for MJC Halal certification (1997–2006), and General Secretary of MJC (2006–2016). In 2011, he helped establish the Social Development Institute for the Western Cape government. Abdul Khaliq Allie also represents MJC in national and international forums and works on social welfare through the Jerusalem Foundation. He speaks English, Arabic, and Urdu, and is married with six children. His contributions span religious guidance, community service, and interfaith collaboration. He continues to influence South African Muslim society through leadership, education, and social development.
