How to Keep Old Content Fresh

Send a question for 'Ask Megan' Hey, Podcasters! If you're anything like me, updating ads and announcements used to be a hassle. Anytime I wanted to swap a promo, update a sponsorship, or change a call-to-action, I had to go back and edit each episode one by one. That was until I learned about Dynamic Content! Dynamic Content lets you add and remove time-sensitive content across your entire back catalog, without re-uploading anything. So instead of old promos and outdated messages sticking around forever, you can keep your ads and announcements aligned with what you’re doing right now. Dynamic Content makes it easy to: • Swap in new promos across old episodes • Update sponsorships • Run time-sensitive announcements • Keep your call-to-actions fresh Once you start using Dynamic Content, your podcast becomes a lot more flexible and a lot easier to manage. If you haven’t explored Dynamic Content yet, now’s a great time to learn how it works!Join us this Wednesday, May 6th, at 1:00 PM EST, for a Buzzsprout Features Orientation where we’ll take a closer look at Dynamic Content and answer any questions you have in real time. Make Your Podcast Stand Out

Send a question for 'Ask Megan' Hey, Podcasters! I talk with podcasters all the time who don't launch their shows because they think there are already too many podcasts about their topic.  They might be right; the category could be crowded. But instead of focusing on a category, they should be focusing on their niche. This week on Buzzcast, we break down the difference, and it’s one of those shifts that changes how you approach your entire show!  A category is broad: business, parenting, true crime. A niche is where things get interesting. It’s who you’re talking to, how you structure the show, the tone you bring, and the promise you make to the listener at the end of each episode. That’s why you can have dozens of podcasts covering the same topic, and they still feel completely different; they all have a different niche. If you're ready to have your podcast stand out in a crowded space, check out this week's episode of Buzzcast! Listen to Buzzcast Mark Your Calendar  Buzzsprout and Podnews are headed to The Podcast Show London, and we want to hang out with you!  Join us on May 19th from 4-7 PM for a fun night of networking, food, and drinks. RSVP Episode of the Week In today’s fast-paced world, both podcast guests and hosts are competing to gain more attention and traction for their brands. It seems that to stand out, we have to do more and more. But that couldn’t be further from the truth.  In this episode of Podcasting Made Simple, Tom Rossi and Alex Sanfilippo explain how they’ve both built podcasting businesses by doing something that’s different than the norm! Why Transcripts Matter

Send a question for 'Ask Megan' Hey, Podcasters!  For a long time, podcast transcripts felt like a nice extra. We knew they were helpful, but not necessarily essential.  That’s changed! If you’re on one of our current paid plans at Buzzsprout, we’re now automatically generating transcripts for your new episodes.  And the timing couldn’t be better! Transcripts have become one of the most useful tools you can have for your show. They make your podcast more accessible, help search engines and AI understand your content, and make it much easier to reuse the work you’ve already created. Platforms like Apple Podcasts and Spotify are supporting transcripts more, and tools like Google and ChatGPT can actually use them to suggest your episodes when people search for specific topics. That means your podcast isn’t just something people listen to anymore. It’s something they can find! There’s also a creative side to this. Once you have a transcript, it can help you build everything else: Show notes and blog posts Social content and clips Future episode ideas Even talks, presentations, or booksIf you haven’t really paid attention to transcripts before, now’s a good time to start! Watch the video to see how transcripts can help you grow your podcast and get more out of every episode. Get Booked on Podcasts

Send a question for 'Ask Megan' Hey, Podcasters! For years, we’ve said one of the fastest ways to grow a podcast is by guesting on other shows. But we hadn’t really tested it ourselves. So this year, we did!  Jordan ran an experiment testing cold outreach, guest platforms, and everything in between and ended up getting booked on 8+ podcasts. What surprised her the most was how easy it was! Being a podcast guest isn’t about having a big audience or impressive credentials. Most hosts are just trying to answer three questions:  Can you serve their listeners? Can you communicate clearly? Can you make their life easier? Once she understood that, she built a strategy focused on pitching podcasts where she was a natural fit and could provide value. Approaching being a podcast guest as collaboration, not promotion, leads to better conversations, real relationships, and growth for your show along the way. She also found that tools like PodMatch sped things up significantly, since you’re connecting with hosts who are already looking for guests. If you're ready to get booked on podcasts, this is a resource you don't want to miss! Read the full guide: Get Booked on Podcasts in 2026 And if you want more on being a podcast guest, checkout Podcasting Made Simple Live, a premium virtual event for podcast hosts and guests that helps them grow their influence, revenue, and expertise! Use code BUZZLIVE at checkout for a free ticket.  Have a question for Megan? Send a text! That's all for this week! Thanks for listening & keep podcasting!
