The Huge Show - September 8th - Full Show

Today we're broadcasting from the campus of Hope College as they've got a big weekend in College Athletics coming up. Throughout the show, we were joined by some of the great folks from Hope so we could hear about all of the good things they've got going on. We were also joined by some of our insiders to talk about the Lions, Michigan and Michigan State, and more. Throughout our entire show, we were joined by our good friend Greg Heeres so he and Huge could talk Tigers, Lions, College Football, and more. We kicked off the show talking with Peter Stuursma who is the Head Football Coach at Hope. He told us about how the off-season went for his team, talked about some of the great guys they have on the team, talked about what the characteristics of a good leader are, talked about their game this weekend, and more. News also broke during our first hour that the MAC is appealing the result of that Western/Michigan game on Saturday, so Huge and Greg gave us their thoughts on that, and more. In our second hour, Jeff Risdon from the Detroit Lions Podcast joined us to talk about the Detroit Lions. He and Huge talked about the season opener coming up on Sunday, gave their thoughts on if this team is going to be able to take advantage of the easiest schedule in the NFL, talked about players to keep an eye out for on Sunday, and more. Jim Comparoni from SpartanMag.com then joined us. He and Huge talked about how the Spartans looked in their win over Toledo, talked about the strengths and weaknesses they noticed, talked about how Pat Fitzgerald Coached in that game, and more. We wrapped up the hour talking with Tim Schoonveld who is the Athletic Director at Hope College. He talked about Athletics as a whole at Hope, talked about the impact of Peter Stuursma, talked about how NIL and the transfer portal affect D3 schools, and more. In our final hour, Chris Balas from theWolverine.com joined us. He and Huge talked about the MAC appealing the result of the Michigan/Western game, gave their thoughts on what actually happened, looked ahead to Saturday's game against Oklahoma, and more. We then played Matt Shepard's interview with Detroit Lions Linebacker Jimmy Rolder about game one against the Saints on Sunday. We were then joined by Jon Riekse who is on the Hope Alumni Board. He sat in with Huge and they talked with Austin Harvey and Jonny Rohen-Blanton who play Football for Hope College. They talked about what it's like playing for Head Coach Peter Stuursma, talked about the importance of the team and the culture at Hope, talked about the biggest challenges they've overcome, and much more.
