The calls for justified retaliation by pro-Palestinian protesters on US campuses don't hold water, Diaspora Affairs and Combatting Antisemitism Minister Amichai Chikli told Zvika Klein and Tamar Uriel-Beeri on The Jerusalem Post Podcast.

Also on the podcast, several members of the breaking news desk shared their thoughts about the ongoing anti-Israel protests on US campuses.

"Why do people protest? Because they feel there's no other way to make a change. I think we're seeing a lot of that in our generation," she said. "I think there's truly a horrific amount of antisemitism at these protests but I think there's also a really big desire to live in a world that treats people well."

The plight of the hostages held in Gaza do not invalidate the suffering of innocent Palestinian civilians amid the ongoing war, Rachel Goldberg-Polin, whose son Hersh is a hostage held by Hamas, told Zvika Klein and Tamar Uriel-Beeri on The Jerusalem Post Podcast.

Goldberg-Polin noted that she has been viewed as a symbol to highlight the hostage crisis. She  further stressed how the suffering of both the hostages and Gazan civilians are valid.

This time they interview diplomat Alon Liel who said Israel made a big mistake in putting the destruction of Hamas over rescuing the hostages. 

Liel, the former Israeli ambassador to South Africa, was asked about his thoughts on the ongoing hostage deal talks.

US President Joe Biden "is a Zionist to his core, he feels it in his kishkes as much as I do," US Democratic Congressman Ritchie Torres said Thursday on The Jerusalem Post Podcast with Zvika Klein and Tamar Uriel-Beeri.

Torres, in his first visit to Israel after the October 7 massacre, was asked by Klein about what it's like to be in the Democratic Party during the war. His answer was that despite all the clashes with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Biden is still acking the Jewish state.

The congressman then further affirmed the strong ties between the US and Israel.

Torres further commented about the betrayal experienced by the Israeli left from the progressive movement.
