Koatzin has been incredibly resilient through mental health struggles, paying for their education out of pocket for many years, and navigating a world that isn’t inherently friendly to them as an undocumented person. Koatzin received a bachelor’s degree from California State University, Dominguez Hills a few days ago, and I had to shine some light on this #IndigenousExcellence that they embody!!!     The Pep Talk kicked things off by introducing segments called: The Little Things, Sometimes The World Doesn't Suck, Science Says, Pick Me Ups, and The Pep Talk. The Pep Talk's inaugural episode covered little things I'm grateful for like grandmas, grocery stores, and S'Mores pie surprises for my wife on Pi Day. It had an amazing interview with Rita Jackson (AKA Mama Jackson AKA MJ) about her work with Donate Life and her transformation of her grief into motivation and service to others.
