Keep On Moving Podcast Business Edition March 26 (with UDC)

Join the team at New Zealand Trucking Media as they talk with senior industry people on business at the moment, direction, and state of the industry and economy. Absolutely one not to be missed. We're in front of Tane van der Boon, a 35-year-old tech innovator and entrepreneur in the AI space working to improve health and safety outcomes and core business productivity in unison. Dave also uses the moment to ask Tane the wider-view macro questions on country, region, life, and work of the future. His answers are not to be missed.  We need to find out more about the new world heading our way. Powering On talks to people in the know and those who have already headed off on a new propulsion journey. We aim to make it not too techy, delivering useful information for those who will still be responsible for delivering our new tomorrow. In March, WM commissioned its first Mercedes-Benz eEconic refuse collection truck. New Zealand Trucking magazine editor Gavin Myers covered the launch for the UDC Business of Trucking Powering On section. Clear the Air is the section where co-host Dave McCoid and his good mate and Environmental champion Lindsay Wood discuss the climate and environmental issues of the day, as they should be discussed – respectfully! Following the UK’s National Emergency Briefing comes the hard-hitting Global biodiversity loss, ecosystem collapse and national security report. The March 2026 New Zealand Trucking magazine Clear the Air article was titled 'Far Out On Thinning Ice' – for good reason according to Lindsay Wood. Plus Cam Bagrie on the Economy , the latest sales numbers and the March edition of On Schedule with NRC  .

Keep On Moving Podcast Business Edition Feb 26

This month in the Keep On Moving UDC Business of Trucking Podcast . Join the team at New Zealand Trucking Media as they talk with senior industry people on business at the moment, direction, and state of the industry and economy. February was launch month for the much-anticipated New IVECO Daily. Regional MD Glen Dyer was present at the launch event at Tailem Bend in South Australia. I had the chance to grab 15 minutes for a combined OEM update, and a wider-view Interview.   Graeme Sharp is group sales manager at Royans Transport Accident Repairs and he was out for the official ribbon cutting of the company's outstanding new facility in Christchurch. We caught up with Sharpie for a chat. We need to find out more about the new world heading our way. Powering On talks to people in the know and those who have already headed off on a new propulsion journey. We aim to make it not too techy, delivering useful information for those who will still be responsible for delivering our new tomorrow. For the third year in a row, the international Truck of the Year award was taken away with an electric truck – the DAF XD and XF electrics. I caught up with Commercial Motor editor Will Shiers to ask what the DAF had that got it over the line, and the big question, have we really seen the beginning of the new era and does he think an ICE truck will ever win it again. Clear the Air is the section where co-host Dave McCoid and his good mate and Environmental champion Lindsay Wood discuss the climate and environmental issues of the day, as they should be discussed – respectfully! This month, what would the benefits be if we could all be a fly on the wall of each other's conversation and understand each other's perspective on the biggest question facing the world today. Lindsay Wood had the opportunity to do just that recently, and wrote about it in his Clearing the Air column in February's New Zealand Trucking magazine. We talk about it in this show. On Schedule is the series where Dave McCoid, editorial director at New Zealand Trucking Media, speaks with the National Road Carriers senior team and guests on a broad selection of topical industry subjects as well as the work the association does – the wins, the challenges, and the strategies taken on key issues of the day. This month, we start the year with our annual scene setter on the economy. Yes, it's Economic Trends 2026, with Infometrics director and chief forecaster Gareth Kiernan. Few in his industry have ability to demystify economics like Gareth, imparting some valuable tools for your decisions making tool chest.
