Characterized by its "every other snare" drum programming, halftime is an area of the genre that gained attention over the past few years and continues to innovate with respect to the vibes and production qualities.     Welcome to the second installment of the Vibe Studies Mix Series! We are in a golden era of drum & bass music right now and I want to share the parts that are inspiring me. This mix is a comprehensive survey of the strain of drum & bass that is characterized by halftime drum programming, where the music is written in the 170-ish BPM range but the kick and snare are spread out to give more of a hip-hop or dub feeling. This is by far the most inspiring style of music for me right now as evidenced by what I've been making in the studio, several examples of which are included in this mix.
