She’s rolling out new tech, really doing stuff. She decides she’s going home to Copenhagen for Christmas to spend the holiday with her family! She shows up and knows exactly what to do, hop on a bike, and get going. But then we meet fellow American Ryan who also shows up in Copenhagen, confused as can be. Naturally, her family runs an inn, so she gets right to work on her vacation. She goes for a walk and bumps into Ryan Miller, who is lost as can be. She kinda helps and off she goes. Of course, he shows up at the inn to check in. Marie googles him and finds out that he’s a travel writer, except he’s not, he just happens to share his name. But she doesn’t know that. So she decides she needs to make his stay perfect, complete with their famous Christmas tour...that they haven’t actually offered since her father passed away. When Marie tells her mom her plan, her mom is like don’t bother - I’m selling the inn in the new year. OVER MARIE’S DEAD BODY! She says let me do this and show you that the inn can still be successful! So they start doing all the tour stuff, which is a bit of a learning curve for both, but obviously they start digging each other. But then things get CRAZY! Another Ryan Miller shows up to check in. He’s the real Ryan Miller. Turns out our Ryan Miller was supposed to go to Hotel Anderson, not Anderson Inn. He goes to leave in a massive snowstorm and Marie goes after him to ask him to come back. Naturally he does and commits to continuing the Christmas tour along with the other Ryan Miller. The other Ryan Miller doesn’t seem to be a big fan of much of the tour and our Ryan Miller tries his best to help but it’s not great. She and our Ryan Miller decorate a tree and almost kiss but are interrupted by the other Ryan Miller who was going to leave but decided to stick around to finish his piece on the magic of a Danish Christmas. He then talks to Ryan and is like which of you is moving? Long distance is hard. Good luck out there. Naturally, our Ryan wakes up the next day and leaves. He says she needs room to shine bright and off he goes. She decides she’s going to stay in Denmark and asks if she can take over the inn. She doesn’t want her mom to sell it. Her mom is like well that’s nice but you need to go and tell Ryan how you feel before he leaves! So off she goes to stop him but he’s already on his way back! He tells her he’s staying forever I guess and they kiss!!! They head back to the inn to celebrate Christmas with her family. NICKDirector: Jeff Beesley Writer: Susan Brightbill Cast: Amy Groening as MarenMichael Rady as ReidBRAN’S MOVIE SYNOPSISMaren runs a hardware store where she also repairs sleds. Her daughter, Leah, runs in just as she’s talking to a Santa-lookin’ fellow who gives her a flyer for an “adopt-a-grandparent” program. If I didn’t know any better, I think he might be the real thing. And I think Leah thinks so too, so she asks her mom if they can do the grandpa thing. The program is at this retirement community, Jolly Acres, which of course is run by hunk Reid. Chris comes up and Leah adopts him and then he snaps his fingers and the lights turn on on the tree. Leah is convinced he’s Santa and is going to do an investigation of her own. So Jolly Acres is in the process of renovating a big room, with the goal of having it ready by Christmas Eve (OBVIOUSLY). But the contractor’s twins came 2 weeks early. He’s out. Maren takes a look at the project and says she can handle it. Obviously, Reid is thrilled because that means he gets to hang out with Maren more. She finds out that he doesn’t have a Christmas tree, so naturally they need to fix that. As they hang out, she finds out that he’s never stayed anywhere very long. Even with his current job, he goes and opens a center and then leaves once it’s good and heads to another. They end up holding hands but then she’s like uh oh....gotta go! But after the ugly Christmas sweater fashion show, they just can’t help themselves and they almost kiss...but Leah interrupts them. BOOOO!!!! Bad news - he’s got his next assignment. Beautiful Honolulu. He tells her and shares he’s disappointed he couldn’t stay here longer because he felt like there was something worth staying for, and they hug. Maren begins to be concerned with how much Leah thinks Chris is Santa, so she talks to him and then he tells her that he turns on the lights with a remote and he’s not Santa but believes in all the things Santa stands for and they hug. Maren finishes the renovation gig. You can tell that Reid is really struggling with not wanting to leave, so later that night, he asks if she wants to go stargazing. She tells him it’s probably best if she just heads home. Overnight, a pipe in the ceiling of the new room bursts. The room is ruined. The party isn’t going to happen. But then Reid calls her. The party is on...in an entirely different room but it still looks great. When he sees the community he has here, he decides he’s going to stay. He tells Maren that he’s staying and they KISSSSSSS! They go back to her house for Christmas and Leah opens a gift from Santa, signed Grandpa Christmas. So I guess Chris really is Santa? She asks him over to help fix a light and she shows off her grandma’s table. She explains her dream of filling the table for Christmas. He shares his dream of giving his daughter a perfect Christmas. So they agree to help each other - he’ll help fill the table with people and she’ll help give her a perfect Christmas. She’s out here inviting everyone to Christmas Eve dinner but people be busy, people be bailing, people suck. She spends a ton of time with Mark. Everything from shopping together, delivering presents together, winning a turkey together. She works with his daughter on her writing. Mark and Julie go for a picnic date and end up kissingggg! It’s all very sweet. BUT WHAT ABOUT THE TABLE?! WHO IS GOING TO FILL UP THE TABLE?! Well, she has Mark and Julie and Mark’s entire family, so it’ll be fine, right? WRONG! His family gets snowed in and isn’t going to make it. But wouldn’t you know it, everyone she invited ultimately ends up coming. It’s a perfect Christmas. Luke says absolutely not for the rest of time! Lorelai got a phone number from Headmaster Charleston from a Harvard graduate so that Rory could pick their brain and help ease her application anxiety. They go over and he’s excited to talk to them. It’s going well until the topic of their other daughter comes up. She’s following her own path. And the family is incredibly weird. Rory goes to use the restroom and meets their other daughter, Carol, who is working multiple jobs. She’s very anti-doing what her parents want. This just helps Rory be thankful for her mom who she knows will be proud of her no matter what. The Gilmore girls make it back in time for town meeting and it’s a heated one thanks to the soda shop situation. But when Luke finds out that Lorelai and Rory like the idea of the soda shop, he softens to the idea. Afterwards, a guy named Dave Rogowski shows up and wants to talk to Lane about his band. Dean finds Rory and he starts asking questions about what happens when she goes off to college. It doesn’t go great. Jackson asks Lorelai if he can rent Rory’s room when she leaves. Things are starting to get serious. The next day - the Harvard guy calls and tells Rory to pack her bags. He’s gonna give her a big recommendation to the Harvard brass. But Rory and Lorelai aren’t thrilled. They decide to cancel all their plans and just hang out that day. He doesn’t know her, although he does know who she is and pulls a magazine with her on it out of his bag. Turns out he’s a very eligible bachelor. After an event, they end up hanging out together, having the best time. She finds out that she doesn’t do anything with the hospital gala anymore and JUST CAN’T EVEN! Naturally, she ends up missing her old life, especially after another hang out sesh with Adam and her family. The night ends with them kissing! She decides she’s going to start a new fundraiser to help fund heart surgeries for people that can’t afford it, just like she did in her other life. But bad news - he got a job that’s gonna take him away. She just wants things to go back to the way things used to be! She goes home and makes a wish upon the ornament. She wakes up the next day and nothing has changed. Suddenly, their dog runs in and she gives the dog a hug. Suddenly, she transports back to her old life. She talks to Adam about how she should’ve spoken up about not wanting to give up on her dream. She wants to give it a shot and he wants to support her. She finds her assistant at the coffee shop, meets her idol, and starts that same fundraiser she did in her alternative life. 1 year later, her dream has been realized and everyone is happy.
