I’d like to push back on what you said about people really believing that their babies were stolen by fairies. So maybe they did believe, but I would think that that is more of a result of mental illness than of pre-existing belief. Many of these women probably suffered from postpartum depression or a postpartum dysphoria. I personally think that’s a more interesting conversation to consider than whether or not people actually believed in fairies.

The subjects of each episode are a fascinating mix of history with a bit of sex and scandal mixed in, but not overly sexual. It’s done tastefully and in an educated way, without coming off as pretentious or as too “academic”. The host, Kate, has a great voice and I never get tired of it. She is very smart, brilliantly witty and funny. The wide variety guests are all experts in their respective fields and provide insightful details on the subjects. This is my go-to Podcast and I listen to it almost daily as I work and do my art. I always use my headphones because it’s a little too mature for children (and prudes lol). There’s so many episodes that come out often, which I love. Highly recommend!
