On Track Companion Podcast, Episode 1 (français) | Venise

This is the companion podcast to On Track Episode 1: the first day of the race, starting in Venice. The episode itself is on the Coffee Break Languages YouTube channel, and it's best to watch that first. We talk about how the day went, so be aware there will be spoilers! We read it through, talk about the language in it, then read it again, so by the end you'll understand every word. Max uses "on" rather than "nous" all the way through, which is how most French speakers say "we" in everyday conversation. Coming soon: On Track - a Coffee Break Adventure

On Track is our new series: a five-day race across Europe by train. Two teams of Coffee Break language experts, ten cities in four countries, and language challenges at every stop. Team Green is Francesca, from Coffee Break Italian, and Pablo, from Coffee Break Spanish. Team Blue is Max, from Coffee Break French, and Thomas, from Coffee Break German. My husband and I who are in our 60s have been listening to this podcast religiously for the last three months. It has helped us greatly, even in a classroom setting where we are taking French locally. The content is explained carefully and in the correct order for learning and building upon what you might already know. My only caveat would be if you start with season one don’t get into all the tenses other than the present tense on some of the verbs he covers. I’m taking a A1 level French class locally and season 2 correlates to my curriculum.

These podcasts are so well done. I took French from 4th-12th grade and a year in college but that was 40 years ago. I listened to all the seasons and that has really helped me to brush up on my French, which was helpful when we vacationed in France and Quebec. I loved the stories and format. The magazine series was interesting and the more recent series have been very helpful as well. I love how clearly everything is explained in all the seasons. 10/10
