    Daily Devotions: Unseen Advantages Bring Victory - May 13, 2026

    1 Samuel 17:39–40, 48–49 (ESV) In this episode of Daily Devotions, Pastor David Sumrall shares a lesson from David’s victory over Goliath. David refused to fight pretending to be someone he was not. Instead of wearing Saul’s armor, he chose to use the skills and tools he already knew as a shepherd, teaching us that victory often comes through the abilities God has already placed in our hands. Pastor Sumrall explains that David’s greatest advantage was something Goliath never noticed. While Goliath focused on the shepherd’s staff, he failed to recognize the sling; the weapon David had mastered through years of experience. Sometimes the strengths God has given us may seem small or insignificant, but they are exactly what God will use to bring victory.
