    Episode 124 : The Legend of the EU Legends

    Joining Rich as special guest interviewee this month is a man who needs no introduction to Fantha Tracks listeners, it’s Mr Brian Cameron.  Brian has long service as a Star Wars journalist and podcaster, having written for TheForce.net, Jedi Net, Jedi News, and Fantha Tracks.  He also shares Richard’s love of literature from the galaxy far, far away, and it’s sure to be an interesting and informative chat. The lads kick off the first podcast of 2026 in fine style as they look back at the year gone, and discuss their plans and collecting goals for the New Year.  Will Pete be hoping to get himself that gold bikini? Listen and find out! A plentiful plethora of new acquisitions are discussed, Rich gets quizzical, and the Action Figure Country Vehicle Face Off Thing has a uniquely Euro flavour, visiting Yugoslavia, Hungary, Germany and Finland.  Shout-outs see the team bring their favourite acquisitions to the table with an Australian threesome, dodgy jigsaws, cheesy triangles, a soapy box, and signs of the radio. Rebel Briefings catches up the latest stories from the collecting universe with a find of Dixie Cups artwork, AI shenanigans, looking ahead to Echo Live, Bespin Prime’s Best of 25, and a Palitoy books bonanza. In the Licensee section Pete and Andy take a look at fine furniture from American Toy & Furniture, with bookcases, chests, cabinets, tables, chairs, and more.  Some wonderful products, but it’s the artwork that takes the prize.     Episode 123 : Ben Potter and the Bunker of Secrets

    It’s a Wizard shop Peter! Special guest this month Ben Potter joins Pete and Spoons to tell all about his exciting new venture, The Bunker collectibles shop, just opened in Hogwarts - err sorry, Royston near Barnsley in the frozen North. The show opens with a remembrance of poster artist Drew Struzan, who recently passed, and a chat about the lads’ favourite posters. Rich expands the New Acquisitions section to take in any old tat, and there’s another international Face-Off, taking in Croatia, Venezuela, Israel and the land of Dog Chow. Andy P hosts a colourful cardback quiz, and the NA shout-outs feature some tasty 32-backs, a cracking carnival mirror, a trio of vinyl capes, an exciting early bird, and a lovely lenticular poster. Rebel Briefings brings in stories from around the collecting world including fab food ads, a Toy Fair find, Boba’s blaster, the final (sob!) Farthest From, featured finds from Vectis, and re-living Echo Live. Licensee this month is Burtons Biscuits, who produced a range of ‘Crisp biscuits sprinkled with mint sugar’ in Star Wars packaging, popular with 80s kids in Britain. This sparks an outbreak of biscuity nostalgia among the lads, and cookie cravings. Plenty of Zollux and banter along the way, find the podcast in all the usual places.

    Episode 122: Pearce and Gillette - The Best Amanaman Can Get?

    This month features a special double interview with Jim Pearce and Simon Gillett, who join Andy P in a Westcountry trio, to discuss Star Wars media in all its glorious formats - audio, visual, print and more. The podcast opens with a spooky pitch for Halloween fun in a galaxy far, far away, after which the lads discuss their latest pick-ups, and the Face-Off continues its global world tour.  There’s a cracking quiz from Jason, and in New Acquisitions, the team discusses a calculator clock ruler combo, a Mind Circus mug, an Omni Cosmetics display, some Tortuous diecast, and a flask from darkest Peru. Rebel Briefings brings together the latest stories from around the Star Wars universe, including more mail-order musings with Jerry Hancock, a Super See-Threepio, Spoons’ Dortmund discussion, a packaging palaver, high value for Vader’s saber, Paleetoys Bespin bonanza, and a web of dies. Licensee this month is the brilliantly named Kid Nap, an Irish company that made kids’ bedroom furnishings, with a great - and little known - Star Wars range.     Episode 121 : Your Thornton will freeze before you reach the first marker

    Welcome to another amazing episode of the TVR podcast! Special guest this month is Michael Thornton, better known on Facebook as Michael Peter. He tells Richard all about his passions for Turkish delights, Princesses aplenty, and Liverpool FC - well, nobody’s perfect. In the Intro section we mark the passing of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne in true TVR fashion by forming our own band from the vintage figure line. The lads tell all about their latest vintage finds, and there’s more international shenanigans in the Face-Off. Rich hosts this month’s quiz, and we look at the top finds from around the collecting galaxy, from eclectic companies including Glasslite, Takara, Topps, Thermos, and Pete gets some dodgy invitations from Mexico. In Rebel Briefings the lads highlight collecting stories including auction treasures, how to transport your MOCs, belated Happy Birthdays, stolen displays, and remembering Admiral Pete. As ever we wrap up with the Licensee section, looking this time at one of the more unusual vintage licences, Australian company Harper’s, who thought in 1983 that Return of the Jedi would be an ideal vehicle to promote their dog food.     Episode 120 : Biddulph Or Tuna

    Our special interview guest this month is multi-award winning childrens’ author and illustrator Rob Biddulph, who tells Andy P not only of his experience growing up as a Star Wars fan, but especially, a memorable 1979 visit to Elstree Studios, home of The Empire Strikes Back. In the intro section we chat about how to keep your collecting fresh and interesting, look at our own new acquisitions and others from around the world including a Kenner Firecart, a Palitoy display, a Trebor sweetie box, transparent Leia’s, and some old-skool home taping. Spoons does the quiz by-the-book, and Rich takes Face-Off into international territories. Rebel Briefings sees the lads look at stories from around the collecting world including coins, concepts, a cautionary tale, and a bargain (?) Rocket Fett. Licensee this month is a little different as the team casts a look at crew items from the original 1977 Star Wars movie - what’s out there, and how to build a collection. We’re still on a Japanese theme this month, as our special guest interviewee is Andy Takara, joining Spoons to talk Oriental collectibles, Celebration, and of course his passion for all things keshi. We start the show with a look forward to Celebration LA in 2027, and what we might expect. Moving swiftly on, the intro section sees the lads discuss their latest pick-ups, defend their selections in Action Playset Face-Off, and get quizzical with Spoons. The New Acquisitions feature has an international flavour as we sample new finds from Mexico, Poland, Spain, Germany and … err … Brentford. In Rebel Briefings, Andy P interviews Mark Harewood who tells of a close encounter with a Sith Lord in a Belfast toy shop. The team goes on to discuss conventions past and future, and Chris Fawcett coins it in. There’s news of discoveries in the diecast and baggie sectors, a look at old and new home made toys, and an update on the impending Palitoy publication. Otherwise, in a packed show, the lads sort out Disney’s upcoming Star Wars programming, tell all about their growing collections, and debate this month’s selections in the Action Playset Face-Off. Andy P has a Top quiz - but who will come up Trumps? And, the team highlights the best new acquisitions from around the collecting world. The Rebel Briefings section brings reports from Redditch, anticipation for Tokyo, and Chris’s collectable coins. We look forward to an upcoming Palitoy publication, and note the passing of a Leamington toy shop legend.     This month’s show really is going down the toilet! That is to say, the downstairs loo of our special guest Matt Skywalker-Jones, which he’s turned into a bijou display room. Matt tells all to Andy P, and talks about his collecting journey, and his many vintage passions. Elsewhere, the lads ponder Star Tourism, tell all about their latest finds, and battle it out in the Action Playset Face-Off, which sees a Death Star and an Ewok Village up against not one but two Cantina playsets.  Jason hosts this month’s quiz, and in New Acquisition shout-outs, we hear about 12-back display shippers, Japanese pencil cases, Peruvian board games, Helix and Letraset shenanigans on eBay, and an HCF pencil pot. A packed Rebel Briefings section sees chat about latest happenings in the collecting universe, as we catch up with a new blog on early Kenner displays, hear about the latest charitable offering from the Pennsylvania Star Wars Collecting Society, recall Thomas Troy’s Troop Transporter, take a look at a Palitoy book, a signed Survival Kit and a great Greek gun, before looking ahead to Echo Live and Celebration Japan.
