    Cinepunx Episode 218: APOCALYPSE NOW REDUX(79) & PLATOON (86)

You can hardly believe it but those stalwart boys of Cinepunx are back! On this explosive new episode we get into it on two classic films we should have seen already, but somehow had not: Apocalypse Now and Platoon. We specifically watched the redux edition of Apocalypse Now if that matters to you, which I had not seen before now. Despite some reservations about the style of these movies, some of the narrative decisions, and the method they were made, we were mostly blown away by these movie. We do our usual gimmicks and have a discussion of recent events and Josh’s new solo release. Do me a favor, go order your own copy of Josh’s new record, it is really really good. We had not caught up enough lately but it was a lot of fun to talk, even if the films we were discussing were kind of bummers. Thanks for listening! Cinepunx Episode 217: TOKYO STORY (53)

NEW EPISODE IS HERE! Join us as we explore one of the greatest directors of the 20th Century, Yasujiro Ozu by discussing his most famous film, Tokyo Story.    As is our custom we do our usual WACK AND ON TRACK gimm8ck and unlike usual Josh has some actual; wack stuff to share. I spend a little too much time on this episode borrowing commentary from Dr. Jeff Stout who I saw lecture about this movie in like 2007. Anyway, we hope you enjoy the conversation and we will work hard to get back to you sooner. Opening song is Swiz, middle song is new Josh single. Hey, thanks for sticking with us and feel free to encourage new folks to check it out. Thanks for listening! Cinepunx Episode 216: Catching up on Cinema and Life

COME AT YAH WITH A BRAND NEW EPISODE! We had originally planned on this episode being a chance to talk about the recent RZA directed movie One Spoon of Chocolate but honestly we just felt like there was not enough there to carry a whole episode but really wanted to record so instead here is a brief catch up on recent movies as well as the Nitrate Film Fest. Cinepunx Episode 215: Current Cinema Catch Up

BACK TOGETHER AND IT FEELS SO GOOD! Hey friends, welcome to our new episode as we check in on the cinema of today! Basically, we are working to try and record more, and I would LOVE to blame Josh but in reality scheduling has been hard for both of us. Episode is still super good, so no worries, but yes, it is a bit of a catch up so we have something to put out. Still love you though Thanks so much for listening and hanging with us, do me a favor and tell a friend we exist. On this episode we talk about a lot of movies, and we do our usual Wack and on Track gimmick as well. After Josh told me about his experience taking Job to Femtanyl I decided to use one of their songs to open the episode. IT is a bit crazy honestly. Also there is a small sound issue for the first section of the episode. Honestly? My toilet upstairs was running and the mic picked it up a little bit. Sorry buds. Thanks for listening! Episode 214: CAT CHASER (89), NIGHT EYES (90) W/ EVAN VELLELA

CUE THE SEXY SAXAMAPHONE, CINEPUNX IS BACK WITH THEIR OLD FRIEND EVAN VELLELA TO TALK ABOUT SOME DANG EROTIC THRILLERS! It is good to be back. Apologies again for the delay but Josh is a wild man and I was supporting my pastor wife getting ready for the Easter festivities and just life, yah know? Anyway, love you all, and so excited to be back with you, joined by my Ghoul Summer co-host Evan Vellela to discuss two erotic thriller of his choosing: Cat Chaser and Night Eyes.   We are so grateful Evan was able to join us and, spoiler, I really enjoyed one of these movies. Look, even if I didn’t love both of these films, it was cool to finally dip out toe into the erotic thriller world and we do discuss some other movies I am hoping to catch up with soon. We also do our usual gimmick of Wack and on Track, and I am not sure anything some up we need to link to but off mic Josh did mention he was playing this PLOW UNITED GIG IN SEPTEMBER, I dunno if it is sold out or not so go check and maybe get a ticket off the dark web. Hey, have you thought about supporting our patreon? I would love it if you did! Thanks for listening! Episode 213: RAD & GLEAMING THE CUBE w/ Reject

I know, I know, you are asking your podcast player of choice out loud, right now, “WHY IS CHRIS REJECT BACK?” Well, it is simply because we love him. Also, LVAC is having some cool sales right now, so get some stuff printed, will yah?? On this extreme sport filled episode, Reject joins us to discuss two tubular films, Rad and Gleaming the Cube. Look, as much as we like to bust on Chris, the reality is he is a great dude who does great work, and you should make him feel cool by checking out LVAC, or DRYROTT, or SQUARE OF OPPOSITION, or whatever. It was actually pretty fun to talk to Chris again; even if he is a giant asshat, he is also pretty great. Kinda. On this episode, we do our usual Wack and On Track and we spend a bit more time discussing the ways DHS is being used to terrorize innocent people. I want to link to a charity, or a community organization, or an ICE WATCH group, but you should probably find a local one to you. I know things are hard right now; do not give up, we can do this together. Like I said, patronize any one of Chris’s scams — I mean, businesses — and let him know we sent yah so he stops harassing us all the time. Thanks friends, love you. Thanks for listening! Episode 212: MIKEY AND NICKY (76)

HOW CAN IT BE? ANTHER DOWN ON THE STREETS EPISODE OF THE INFAMOUS CINEPUNX PODCAST? On this episode we get into a conversation discussing Mikey and Nicky, the 1976 Elaine May written and directed film that sits at the junctions of crime films, buddy films, and crushing tragedies. Josh Cassavetes and Peter Falk really make this film incredible and we spend a chunk of time parsing out what makes this classic Philly film so great. We also spend some time lamenting the fascist take over of the country, discussing some recent cinema, and Josh reminds me of the band I was in during college. It is a cavalcade of unjustified nostalgia and questionable critical insight. Our opener song is of course CROSSED KEYS and the break song is from the band Josh discusses during the episode. NOT GORGEOUS. Ok I think that is it- Thanks for listening! Please spend some time checking out our Patreon and of course, check out the family of shows available at Cinepunx.com. Episode 211: MIDNIGHT RUN & RUNNING ON EMPTY w/ Black Guy Fawkes

CINEPUNX RETURNS FOR THE HOLIDAY SEASON!! On this incredible new episode, we discussed two films recommended by Paul Thomas Anderson, Midnight Run and Running on Empty. Joining us on this cinematic adventure is Blavk Guy Fawkes aka Ian Robinson, and we were delighted to talk to him I won’t waste your time with more apologies about our huge break. If you listen to the episode, you’ll hear why it’s been such a long gap between episodes and there’s some good reasons there but also we’ve just been enjoying life. On top of that it’s the holidays so I have things to do for family and quite honestly my laptop is broken again so until I get that fixed, I won’t be typing anything. You’re reading this from my voice to text! Thanks for keeping the faith Thanks for listening!
