    Combes – Mechanical Ventilation on VV-ECMO

    Dr. Alain Combes has is a professor of intensive care medicine at Sorbonne Université in Paris. Dr. Combes’ research focuses on the care of critically ill cardiac patients, mechanical circulatory assistance and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, rescue therapies for severe respiratory failure, and infections in critically ill patients.

    Dull – Hypovolemia with Peripheral Edema: What is Wrong?

    Dr. Randal O. Dull is a professor of anesthesiology with joint appointments in the departments of pathology, physiology, and surgery at the University of Arizona College of Medicine. With a background in research on capillary and endothelial permeability, he has been collaborating more recently on fluid kinetics and dysregulation of fluid leaking from the vascular system. In his lecture today, he discusses an article he co-authored of the same name: Hypovolemia with Peripheral Edema: What is Wrong?     Khan – Advanced Noninvasive Neuromonitoring in ECMO

    Dr. Imad Khan is an assistant professor in the Division of NeuroCritical Care at the University of Rochester. His research focuses on monitoring cerebral perfusion and pathophysiology in patients with anoxic brain injury in cardiac arrest and cardiogenic shock. In collaboration with several other specialists (cardiac surgeon, cardiac intensivist, optical engineer, epileptologist), he developed a paradigm for multimodal monitoring in patients undergoing VA ECMO.
