They Might Be Giants Podcast

The Don’t Let’s Start Podcast is the perfect audio commentary companion for They Might Be Giants aficionados! I had encountered the mention of the podcast a few years ago, but only just delved into it today. Far from the usual podcast fluff one often encounters within communities of rabid common-interest followers, Jordan Cooper and Dave Fox tickle the mind by delving deep into the music, lyrics, and aesthetics of TMBG’s lush and storied catalogue, with insightful conversation and nuanced insight. Their level of balancing commentary with occasional asides is spot-on, and the material divulges interesting gems that even a hardcore fan may’ve missed along the way, (an almost certainty, given the sheer amount of content and history this very unique band has amassed over the last almost forty-four years!). They maintain a very heady discussion, but laced with just enough humour to keep it from feeling too stuffy, and their bonus content is enough to have made me instantly sign-up as a Patreon supporter; never before has there been another content creator for which such a sign-up was so immediate for me, and now I’m looking forward to the many days ahead playing catch-up, and looking forward to all the new content as well. I cannot recommend this podcast more highly enough, to even the most cursory of TMBG fans!

Can someone do reruns of the Friday nigh family video podcast?

I miss the official TMBG podcast! In the meantime check out Don’t Let’s Start: A Podcast About They Might Be Giants, fun and in-depth dives into their music!
