    A Carriers Obligation To Drivers

    A Carriers Obligation To Drivers. Are you a trucking Company? If so, you have obligations to the drivers you hire. First and foremost you have an obligation to honesty. Too many drives report they were lied to prior to joining a carrier. Are your recruiters being the most forthcoming with potential drivers? Also, are you providing the recruiters with the most updated information daily. After all, things change. Runs change per the customer. Equipment changes. Pay changes. Also, home time changes based on the customer's needs. Does the recruiter communicate also with the shop? The recruiting depart meant should always know which rigs are available. When passing on accurate information to a new driver, you are sure to keep that driver longer than, say a driver that got mis-information. Most drivers that feel lied to, are already talking to other carriers in hopes of finding a new job. This can take place as soon as the first week they started working for you. So honesty is the best policy.     Why Can't I Carry A Gun. For some reason there is a state that does not recognize my CCW. Is this constitutional? Does this particular state have the right to refuse my rights to carry and bare arms? This may be a states right to refuse any and all they deem 'not worthy' to carry a firearm in their state, meanwhile allowing 15 chosen states to march and parade they're weapons thru their dwelling. Only an idiot does what this clown is doing. Let's catch this guy. Someone is going to wake up in the middle of his dastardly doing's and put a whooping on this character. Be vigilant from now on drivers. We need everyone to get serious about what is happening. So far he has struck between Georgia and Texas. Looks like up and down the I75 corridor across Interstate 40 and Interstate 20 to Texarkana TX. If you're a trucking company that runs these area, take a look at the incidents and see if one of your drivers just happens to always be in the area when the bandit sticks. He's a skinny white guy, perhaps 20's to 40's. He needs to go to jail and pay for his crimes.     2024 In The Mirror

    2024 In The Mirror. Yay, 2024 is behind us. A warm welcome to the New Year and Happy New Year to all of our listeners. We are praying for a better year and it has already started out with a new president. Well, maybe not a new President but one that has already shown success and thats good enough for most of the country. TalkCDL is hoping that the Trucking Industry will see a big turn-around. Freight was horrible in the last year. Now that covid is father behind us also, we are starting to see the support,y chain pick up steam. Manufacturing is seeing an uptick in the semi truck department. Truck prices have dropped a little and there is opportunities for carriers to grow 2024 did not see any growth in the driver wage department. In fact, last year seen a reduction in wages. Moreover, there was a reduction in freight rates. As you can see the news was grim for trucking. Also the seen a huge amount of drivers get their walking papers. That's right. in November of 24, we seen a mass exodus of the driver pool. 180, 000 drivers to be precise. The reason, the clearinghouse new rule.     Merging Lanes

    Merging Lanes. Truck drivers are considered professional drivers. If you want the title, then you need to act like the title. When another vehicle is merges and is driving aggressively, there is a responsibility to avoid a possible accident. If a driver is not at fault during an accident but could have prevented it. He/she is part of the blame. Merging Lanes Safety Departments will always look at other factors besides who was at fault. It sounded to me like the trucker was trying to temporary fix a truck to limp it to a shop. I was surprised that the trucker was arrested. In America he would have been tagged and fined. He would have had to pay for repairs and the towing of the vehicle but no arrested. Experience is worth more Driving With Christmas Lights Are Illegal Did you know in most cases, driving with Christmas lights on can get you a fine? Thats right, In Pennsylvania this week a town has issued a warning to truckers. It is ok to have them on your truck but when in motion the extra lights have to be turned off.
