    Prepare for Your Martyrdom

Send us Fan Mail As the Church prepares to celebrate the Feast of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, Fr. Theophan reflects on the lives of these two great saints and what they reveal about the Christian life. Far from promising comfort, prosperity, or an easy path, the witness of the apostles reminds us that faithfulness to Christ often involves hardship, sacrifice, and perseverance. Drawing from the lives of Peter and Paul—from Pentecost to imprisonment, persecution, and martyrdom—this homily explores the difference between modern expectations of Christianity and the apostolic vision handed down by the Church. Their example challenges us to endure suffering with hope, remain steadfast in our calling, and seek first the Kingdom of God regardless of the cost. As Christians living in a relatively comfortable age, we are called to remember that the path to the Resurrection always passes through the Cross. Homily preached at St. Innocent Orthodox Church. Why Are We So Anxious? Christ Has the Answer

Send us Fan Mail In this homily, Fr. Theophan reflects on Christ's command to "seek first the Kingdom of God" and the struggle many of us face with anxiety, security, and the pursuit of success. Modern life teaches us to place our hope in education, careers, financial stability, possessions, and future plans. Yet these things can change in an instant. Illness, loss, uncertainty, and unexpected hardship remind us how fragile earthly security can be. Drawing from the Gospel, Fr. Theophan explores Christ's call to root our hearts in God rather than in the temporary things of this world. When our peace comes from wealth, status, or circumstances, anxiety follows. But when our peace comes from Christ, we discover a stability that cannot be shaken by politics, economic uncertainty, illness, or loss. Homily preached at St. Innocent Orthodox Church (OCA). The Saints and the Fulfillment of the Gospel

Send us Fan Mail All Saints Sunday Homily – St. Innocent Orthodox Church On this Sunday of All Saints, we celebrate the countless men, women, children, martyrs, monastics, pastors, and righteous faithful who responded to Christ’s call and became radiant with His grace. In this homily preached at St. Innocent Orthodox Church, we reflect on what holiness truly means in the Orthodox Christian life—not something reserved only for great ascetics of centuries past, but the calling given to every baptized Christian. The saints are not distant examples; they are living witnesses that communion with Christ transforms ordinary people into bearers of His Kingdom. May their prayers strengthen us as we strive to take up our cross, remain faithful in repentance, and seek first the Kingdom of God. “Marvelous is God in His saints.” If this homily was meaningful to you, consider subscribing and sharing with someone seeking the ancient Christian faith. The Breath of Life and the Birth of the Church

Send us Fan Mail On this great Feast of Holy Pentecost, we reflect on the gift of the Holy Spirit and the restoration of mankind in Christ. Beginning with creation itself, this homily explores humanity’s original communion with God, the tragedy of the Fall, the limitations of the Law, and the fulfillment of all things through Christ’s death, resurrection, and the descent of the Holy Spirit. As the Church celebrates her birth at Pentecost, we are reminded that the same Spirit who descended upon the Apostles now dwells within the hearts of the faithful—forming us, sanctifying us, and sending us into the world as bearers of Christ. May the grace of the Holy Spirit renew our hearts and guide us into authentic life in Christ.
