    Rising, AZYC

    RISING is an intimate window into a society grappling with trauma and the people rising to protect its moral compass and democratic foundations. For years people around the world have been exposed to imagesof war and destruction from Israel. RISING reveals the largely unseen story of more than one million Israelis protesting against the current far-right government fighting to defend democracy, stop the endless war, and preserve humanity under extraordinarily difficult circumstances. I interviewed the film's writer/director/producer Esther Takac. The AZYC is the roof-body organisation of nine Zionist Youth Movements which operate in Australia and New Zealand. The AZYC seeks to represent, support, and connect Zionist youth irrespective of political and religious ideology. I will be joined by Dana Bagel (Habonim), Natan Fell (Bnei Akiva), Joe Cine (Netzer), Ori Rosenscveig (Tzofim), Eve Rosengarten (Hineni) and Anat Dror (AZYC Executive Officer) in an in-depth discussion exploring our younger generation's thoughts on the present and future directions.     Israeli Settler provocations, More Anti-Semantism, anti-Israel SBS

    Jewish violence in the West Bank is increasingly raising questions not only about Palestinian safety, but about Israel’s own security, the authority of the IDF and the risk of wider escalation. Where does extremist violence end and a broader security threat begin, and can Israel contain it? Maj. Gen. (res.) Gadi Shamni, former commander of the IDF Central Command and member of Commanders for Israel's Security, spoke to Media Central about the disconcerting situation, the security challenges it presents, and the potential for further escalation.     An Israeli At Heart

    Levy Schneider was born and grew up in Israel to Holocaust survivors. He served in the IDF as an officer and studied Practical Engineering of Electronics. He combined his love of agriculture and technology at Motorola where he specialised in computerised irrigation and digital farming.  After Motorola he served as the CEO of Netafim in South Africa since 1992 and Netafim Australia since 2005. In 2023 Netafim acquired a Digital Farming company in Melbourne named Square One Laboratories, at which time Levy decided to step down as the CEO of Netafim ANZ and manage Square One Laboratories.
