Czar, Ali, and Mayday are the Metairie Trinity… Listening to their podcast is like being incepted at the Jefferson Parish equivalent of Disneyland. It’s not for everybody, and when those “not for everybody" kind of people show up as guests on NRR, it’s gold. In fact, for most of NRR’s run time, the banter is gold. Czar walks point as the “straight man, “ though don’t mistake that for being nice… He’ll cut you in 2 with his sarcasm when he disagrees with you. Ali is a one-woman library of characters, except when she’s tired, at which point she’s just double-barreled attitude, which I frankly like even better than her hilarious impressions. Mayday I suspect is actually a cyberpunk alpha, and is basically a human soundboard - His speed on the sound effects cues are so on point, he’d be a weapon of mass destruction if he ever decided to use them for evil. Listen with caution.

This show covers movies and pop culture, which many other podcasts do. What sets it apart are the wild personalities of the hosts and the ever present soundscape of samples, sound effects, and audio chaos that peppers the dialog. That accent you hear is one familiar to anyone who's spent time in the Greater New Orleans area. These folks are local musicians and add nightlife flare and the culture of a magic city to delightfully nerdy discussions. It's foul mouthed, smart, bizarre, and loud.
