Embracing God's Promises Now with Dr. Jeff Warren

What if the promises of God are more powerful than any forecast we could ever receive? This message takes us on a journey through the book of Joel, where we discover that God's promises don't have seasons — our awareness of them does. Just as we spring into action when weather forecasters predict a storm, buying bread and milk before the first snowflake falls, we're challenged to consider: do we trust God's word with the same urgency? The prophet Joel spoke of devastating locusts and coming judgment, yet embedded within this dire forecast was an extraordinary promise — that God would pour out His Spirit on all people, across every age, gender, and social status. This wasn't just wishful thinking; it was a divine guarantee that found its fulfillment on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2. We're reminded that we often struggle to embrace God's promises during difficult circumstances, whether facing a medical diagnosis, financial uncertainty, or relational brokenness. Yet the Spirit of God resides within every believer, offering a peace that surpasses understanding and power beyond our imagination. The question becomes: are we praying bold prayers that match the magnitude of God's promises, or are we settling for 'just' prayers that reveal the shallowness of our faith? This message calls us to dream bigger, pray bolder, and embrace the reality that what God promised has already been fulfilled in us through His Spirit.

Telling the Story Now with Dr. Jeff Warren

As we step into a new year, we're invited to examine the story we believe we're living in. This message takes us deep into Psalm 78, a contemplative song that stretches across 72 verses, recounting God's unwavering faithfulness throughout generations. The central challenge before us is profound: Are we living out God's story, or have we adopted the world's narrative where we write our own script? The psalm begins with an urgent call to 'give ear' and 'incline your ears' — literally to stretch our ears toward truth. We're reminded that the content of our story isn't merely Christian values or moral frameworks, but the glorious deeds of the Lord himself. In a culture where podcasts and algorithms increasingly shape theological instincts, we're called back to something more foundational: knowing Christ, not just Christian principles. The warning is stark — without intentional discipleship, without passing on the story of God's faithfulness in our homes and churches, the next generation will default to whatever narrative culture offers. This isn't about waiting until we're older or more established; discipleship is one decision at a time, starting now. Young people aren't the future of the church — they are the church today, capable of leading their families and peers toward Christ. The question isn't 'What is God's will for my life?' but rather 'What is God's will?' — and our place is found in receiving Christ, following him, and becoming like him wherever we are.
