I subscribe to a ton of podcasts, and LeavingToday is one of the best shows being produced, Disney-focused or otherwise. Mark, Hury and Jes are extremely consistent, rarely missing a scheduled show and they never “phone it in” just to put out content. The sound quality is always great and the music fits the tone of the conversation, but it doesn’t sound overproduced or slick. Listening to the show feels like sitting around a table with friends talking, joking and reminiscing about your favorite place to visit. The talking points are relevant, interesting, timely and sometimes controversial but never heated or conceived to create division. I love that the hosts offer thoughtful criticism and examination of the Parks, the corporation and executive decision-making, but never let the criticism devolve into hating on or bad mouthing Disney. I always look forward to one of Hury’s rants, Jes’s unique insight as a former cast member and Mark’s ability to keep the show on track and light-hearted. This is the one show that I fist-pump and quiet-yell “Yesss!” when i see a new episode populate in my app. The only one criticism I have is I wish it was a weekly show, but I know it’s a labor of love and everybody is busy with work and life, I just enjoy the show that much!
