Want to listen to an arrogant, cross, thin-skinned, middle-aged Irishman with a lisp, who constantly stutters and smacks his lips, is incredibly close-minded (while claiming the opposite) and can’t take any criticism? Then this is your show.
Something snapped in Richie Allen during 2024. He used to be an occasional good listen, and he used to have a sense of humor. However, during 2024, he became sullen and morose, took a ton of time off, and rarely updated his website to tell his audience what was going on. Each time he came back, he would complain about the show, his studio, his audience and money. ALWAYS money. He used the threat of quitting to grift money out of his listeners for a new studio, but of course that wasn’t enough. The new studio led to more time off and moody monologues, until finally, on 16 Oct (show 1999) he gave some insight. The show was an epic whine-fest, where Allen complained for well over an hour about his life, the show, his incredible disappointment in his audience and how there is no hope for the future.
Allen, you see, has figured everything out about the world, and YOU are an idiot if you don’t see what he sees and/or disagree with him in ANY way.
One of his more hypocritical moments was at the 1 hour 3 minute mark, where Allen, while discussing his frustration with the Covid restrictions, cries “Why did people go along with that, and not scream from the rooftops and chase these b@stards down the street with pitchforks and torches?”
This is coming from Allen, a self-described pacifist, who only ever suggests mass, non-violent civil disobedience (which he doesn’t believe works and is a complete waste of time). Mr. Pacifist was furious that other people didn’t “rise up”, all while never “rising up” himself. Like all delusional socialist elitists, Allen thinks others should do his heavy lifting. He has something to lose, and he’s too important to get his hands dirty.
Allen also spends a lot of time hammering the independent media. He believes they have been financed by TPTB, and have passed him, a “proper journalist” by. The last part of the show was to inform the audience how hard he works, how little he makes, and how he needs to find a way to make things better... for him. It was pathetic emotional blackmail, designed to scare his audience into thinking he was shutting things down, while having no real intention to do so. Allen announced he was taking a break, possibly never to return (sure, Richie).
But praise be! Allen did return, with a shiny new website, an app that he pushes non-stop, merch and ads pushing his Patreon page. RICHIE NEEDS MONEY, and if he doesn’t get it from his ungrateful listeners, he’s going to have to put his show behind a paywall. Allen crying poor is a surprise, since he also touts his show as “the most listened to independent show in the world” and he has advertisers. You’d think he’d make some money from those ads, not to mention the app he pushes relentlessly (the developer is scooping up user data), his new merch store, his Patreon page and his huge global audience that donates to him. I guess the ingrates don’t donate enough. He also came back with a clever catch phrase that he says over and over. “The Attitude Era of Politics”. It’s awful, but he’s bound and determined to say it 30 times a show. He probably gets paid every time he says it.
Allen has turned into a black pill dispenser. There is no hope in Allen’s world. He hates anyone who is a populist, and has special venom reserved for people like Trump, Farage and Tommy Robinson. Allen always reminds his listeners that they are not voting their way out of their predicament, and anyone who bothers to vote is wasting their time. His solution? He doesn’t have one. (Except send him money)
Allen is better than you. Remember that. He loves all illegals because they are just misunderstood and are being used by TPTB to divide. He knows them all and talks to them, you see. In fact, he warned some illegals working at a local car wash that a raid was imminent. What a guy! Disagree with Allen? Racist!
The odds of him being a paid government disinfo/demoralization stooge are just as likely as him being the independent voice he claims he is. Probably more. The truth is, if he was doing any real damage to the power structure, he would be removed in the night without any fanfare. He’s here to demoralize his audience.
Nothing now matters to Allen except Allen. He is not married and has no children, so he doesn’t have a stake in the future. All he wants now is financial security. That’s his singular goal. Based on that, Allen being on a payroll would make a lot of sense. It would sure explain his personality shift.
This used to be a show occasionally worth listening to. No longer. Skip it, and consider this a ZERO star review.
