Practice Makes Prepared // Chris Nelson

Unlocking Victory Through Spiritual Preparation -- In this powerful message, Chris Nelson challenges the common cultural myth that practice makes perfect, offering a refreshing, biblically grounded alternative: practice makes prepared. Drawing from the familiar account of David and Goliath in 1st Samuel 17, this teaching explores how everyday spiritual habits build the resilience needed when unexpected trials strike. -- Listeners will discover the danger of relying on human strength and armor, just as David refused King Saul's ill-fitting gear. Instead, learn how anchoring your life in God's word, spending intentional time in His presence, and putting Him first in every decision positions you for guaranteed victory. Whether you are navigating a financial crisis, relationship strain, or personal doubt, this message provides a practical blueprint for stepping out in faith and running toward your giants. 5. What's Your Name? // My Big Fat Mouth // Ryan and Andrea Kramer

-- In this final message of the "My Big Fat Mouth" series, Pastors Ryan and Andrea Kramer explore how the nicknames and labels we carry shape our perspective, while highlighting the profound spiritual impact of the words we speak over others. -- Drawing from the inspiring example of Barnabas in the book of Acts, the teaching examines how the early church apostles renamed Joseph to Barnabas, meaning son of encouragement, because his life and words consistently lifted people up. -- The message breaks down four essential life words that every believer should practice, beginning with grateful words that act as a spiritual superpower to help us see God's hand even in unexpected places. -- Encouraging words are highlighted as a vital force that comes alongside others to pour courage back into their hearts during difficult seasons, directly mirroring the comforting role of the Holy Spirit. -- Affirming words refuse to let a person's past have the last word, mirroring how Barnabas advocated for Paul when others were still afraid of his history as a persecutor of the church. -- Sharpening words emphasize the importance of discipleship, training, and welcoming iron-on-iron relationships where believers can grow together and challenge one another in love. Scriptures for Further Study -- Proverbs 18:21 -- Acts 4:36 -- Acts 11:19-26 -- Philippians 2:14 -- 1 Thessalonians 5:11, 5:18 -- Acts 9:26-27 +++++++ Join us for church this Sunday. Turn In Your Resignation // My Big Fat Mouth // Ryan and Andrea Kramer

Unpacking the Power of Your Words -- In this compelling message titled "Turn In Your Resignation," Ryan and Andrea Kramer unpack the profound impact of our daily speech by diving deep into the book of James. Reminding us that even small sparks can ignite massive forest fires, this teaching highlights how unchecked speech can quietly dismantle marriages, friendships, and communities. -- James reminds believers that while humanity has successfully tamed virtually every kind of animal, the tongue remains restless, evil, and full of deadly poison. Ryan and Andrea break down four specific death words—lying, criticizing, slander, and dividing—demonstrating how falling into these verbal traps unwittingly mimics the character and accusations of the enemy. -- Rather than making excuses for a bad day, fatigue, or stress, this message issues a pastoral call to surrender our unfiltered speech to the Holy Spirit. By recognizing the true spiritual source of destructive words, believers are invited to trade death words for life-giving speech, fostering unity and reflecting the true character of God in every conversation. Matter of the Heart // My Big Fat Mouth // Ryan Kramer

Here is a closer look at what we uncover when we examine the true source of our words. -- We often rely on mental filters during stress, exhaustion, or high-pressure situations, but when those filters drop, our true character is revealed rather than changed. -- In Matthew 12, Jesus challenges the religious elite who mastered outward rules and traditions while completely missing God's heart of mercy and compassion. -- Our words act like the juice of an orange when squeezed, proving that pressure only reveals what was already stored inside our hearts all along. -- Trying harder to manage our speech or build a better filter ultimately fails, because fixing the fruit requires allowing God to transform the root. -- Through daily surrender and honest prayer, we can invite God to search our hearts, test our motives, and perform the deep inner work we desperately need. The Power of Words // My Big Fat Mouth // Ryan Kramer

"The tongue can bring death or life" (Proverbs 18:21). "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me" is one of the biggest lies we were ever taught. Words are never "just words." In Week 1 of our series My Big Fat Mouth, Pastor Ryan Kramer looks at what the Bible says about the power of words. We all carry words spoken over us years ago, and we've all excused our own with "I was only joking" or "I was just angry." But Scripture gives our words enormous weight. Using Proverbs 18:21 and Jesus' teaching in Matthew 12, this message shows three reasons your words matter so much: Our words become weight people carry. Our words create the atmosphere we live in. Our words carry consequences beyond this life. You'll also get a practical challenge for this week: weigh your words before you release them. Before you speak, text, post, or comment, pause and ask whether your words will add a burden or equip someone for the journey. And when you get it wrong, learn how to take responsibility and begin repairing the damage. My Big Fat Self Talk // Larry Perry

Overcoming the Inner Critic and Stepping into God's Purpose In this transformational message, Superintendent Larry Perry explores the life of Gideon from Judges 6 and 7 to reveal how our internal dialogue often becomes our greatest obstacle. Standing in hiding, feeling weak and inadequate, Gideon was met by God with a bold declaration: "Mighty hero, the Lord is with you." Through this powerful narrative, Larry Perry demonstrates that God sees your potential when you only see your limitations, calling you to stop allowing fear and negative self-talk to define your future. -- Small begins with significance when God places His hand upon your life, ensuring that your present work is never meaningless. -- Your history reflects what God has already accomplished, but your active faith dictates what He can still do through you. -- The real battle often begins in the mind long before you ever face the external challenges in your life. -- Your current circumstances do not dictate your God-given destiny or the plans He has stored up for you. -- God's call demands movement in obedience before every detail or provision is fully visible or calculated. -- Transforming your life requires capturing negative thoughts and replacing your internal narrative with God's truth. Roots Run Deep // Chris Nelson

Many of us carry childhood sayings and cultural habits that shape how we view the world, but the danger comes when those same human preferences creep into our walk with Christ. Without realizing it, church can easily become a place of spiritual consumption rather than a place of active development. -- Your faith should never be subjected to a Sunday morning. Treating church like a weekly checklist or a spiritual delivery service leaves you spiritually malnourished for the rest of the week. -- Building and developing godly character requires daily abiding in Christ, recognizing that apart from Him we can do nothing. -- Reading the Word of God is only half the battle; we must practically live it out in our workplaces, homes, and communities instead of compromising to fit in. -- True character is a reflection of your roots, and when you are deeply planted along the riverbank of God's Word, external storms and hardships will not uproot you. Heart Work // Unshakeable // Ryan Kramer

-- In this concluding part of the Unshakable series, Ryan Kramer explores Matthew 13 and the parable of the sower to examine how the condition of our heart dictates the trajectory of our lives. -- Many believers make the mistake of focusing entirely on external efforts while neglecting the internal soil where true spiritual fruit is produced. -- Being teachable is the primary step in breaking up a hardened heart, requiring us to welcome correction rather than immediately becoming defensive or rejecting feedback. -- Building deep roots relies on consistent spiritual rhythms rather than emotional, one-time moments like attending a Sunday service or a single powerful event. -- Clearing the clutter involves removing not just obvious sin, but also the neutral weights, busyness, and distractions that quietly choke out God's purposes in our daily lives. -- Living it out requires moving beyond merely consuming biblical information and actually applying God's word to experience genuine transformation. Scriptures for Further Study -- Matthew 13:3-23 -- Proverbs 4:23 -- Hebrews 12:1 -- James 1:22 +++++++ Join us for church this Sunday.
