A Pastor’s Wake-Up Call: How Churches & Pregnancy Centers Can Work Together to Make Disciples

What happens after a mother and father choose life? For Pastor Danny de Armas of @FirstOrlando First Baptist Orlando, the hope is that they don’t just leave a pregnancy center with the help they need. They find connection to the local church and people who will continue walking with them. In this episode of Care Net's Care Cast, Pastor Danny de Armas sits down with Care Net President and CEO Roland Warren to talk about what it looks like when churches and pregnancy centers actually work together. Danny puts his vision simply: “that every pregnancy center director has a direct conduit to pastors in their community who say, ‘We’re with you. How can we help you? What do you need?’” Churches have volunteers. They have resources. They have rooms sitting empty throughout the week. Danny’s challenge is for churches to take the initiative: go to pregnancy centers, build the relationship, ask what they need, and get to work alongside them. Because serving isn’t separate from discipleship. Danny talks about how Christians can stunt their own growth when they don’t serve and why partnering with pregnancy centers gives the Church a very real opportunity to live out the Great Commission. And choosing life isn’t the end of the story. The goal is for mothers and fathers to find lasting Christian community, hear the Gospel, and become disciples of Jesus. Caring for unborn life, serving mothers and fathers, strengthening families, sharing the Gospel, and making disciples is the work of the Church. IN THIS EPISODE: • What real partnership between churches and pregnancy centers can look like • Why local pastors need to make relationships with pregnancy center directors • Simple ways churches can offer volunteers, space, and resources • Why serving matters for Christian growth and discipleship • What happens after a mother and father choose life • How First Baptist Orlando and First Embrace work together • How pregnancy center ministry connects with the local church and the Great Commission FREE RESOURCE: PRO ABUNDANT LIFE PERSPECTIVES DEVOTIONAL Want to go deeper into what it means to be Pro Abundant Life? What Does Pro Abundant Life Look Like in the Real World? [Part 4 of 4]

What does Care Net’s Pro Abundant Life vision actually look like in practice? Saving babies, building strong families, and making disciples sounds inspiring, but how does it work in churches, pregnancy centers, and communities? In this episode of CareCast, Roland Warren and Vincent DiCaro conclude their four-part series by answering one of the most important questions surrounding the Pro Abundant Life movement: How does this vision translate into real ministry? Drawing from years of experience with pregnancy centers and churches across the country, they explain how the vision emerged from real-world needs and biblical truth—not theory. They also highlight powerful examples from ministries in Holland, Michigan, and First Baptist Orlando, where churches and pregnancy centers are working together to provide support, discipleship, and lasting transformation. In this episode: • It Starts with the Central Question If a woman facing an unplanned pregnancy came to you and you could change everything except the fact that she is pregnant, what would you want for her? The answer points beyond saving a baby to building families and making disciples. Isaiah 7:14 reveals how God answered that question for Mary through Joseph and the family He provided. • The Church Must Lead, Not Merely Support Pregnancy centers repeatedly expressed the need for greater church involvement. Roland and Vince explain why abortion is not merely a political issue, but a discipleship issue. When churches embrace their Great Commission calling, they move from supporting the movement to leading it. • Transformation Happens Through Partnership Stories from Holland, Michigan, and First Baptist Orlando show what happens when pregnancy centers and churches work together. Women receive practical help, families are strengthened, and many who were once served return to serve others. This is the difference between transactional ministry and transformational ministry. The Pro Abundant Life vision is not simply about preventing abortion. It is about helping mothers, fathers, and children experience the abundant life Jesus promised in John 10:10. When churches and pregnancy centers work together, lives are not only saved—they are transformed. Watch now and discover what Pro Abundant Life ministry looks like in the real world.
