I was really excited to listen to the podcast about Within the Woods and The Evil Dead but I think I have been listening a bad Jay Leno impression and someone joking about getting a two year old in their Porsche for about an hour. It is fine they joke, but their jokes seem in jokes and make no sense to the listener. Hours in, I am finally getting a bit of Lovecraft and Bruce Campbell. I almost turned in off because it is so off topic. It could easily be an hour long with all the fat trimmed. I am not sure that Indian burial grounds were that much of a clique in the 70s. It would be interesting to know how the Book of the Dead got in there to replace it...that is sort of what I expected from this. I think I am in the last hour...I might have been driven slightly mad...no, not more Jay Leno...aah...ok, in the last hour...and it is coming back on track. Wait...maybe it is not. This would be a lot greater if it would be edited...ugh...Kubrick changing to Jay Leno again...ugh. Losing mind...can’t get to pause or delete...so weak...please I hope the special effect part will save me now....god....not Jay Leno again...so tired, so tired...I am sure that they have a lot of knowledge yet they are oddly not into plain facts like that they would get an X for gore, not a NC17....and getting Jane Levy’s TV show name wrong...and the tree...if it was such a bad thing why have it in the reboot? These are again, topics I would like this podcast to explore. I wish they would also have actor names on hand. I felt I got about 30 good minutes out of this whole podcast but when they started talking about it seriously, I really liked it. Which is why I am disappointed with slugging through all the other non topic stuff...or was this just done to make me crazy like Ash? I actually decided to listen to their Ash vs. Evil Dead and I do agree wholeheartedly that Ash is misogynistic in Army of Darkness and the old Ash is a post war PTSD version who could not progress and only get minimum wage jobs...so this grizzled version of Ash works for me be it written by old white dudes or not. But they get the fact Ash’s car is a Delta 88 Olds wrong...a Chevy Nova? Plus they get his city wrong...it just makes me feel like they did not pay attention to movies they claim to watch a zillion times. So, though I really enjoy a lot of what they say, their lack of knowing the most basic stuff about their topic, is a turn off and I will probably unsubscribe from the Podcast afterwards unless they have a film topic I am excited to hear about. Which is a bit sad...and again, if they cut this down to an hour and get their facts right on actor names and stuff most fans know...I would keep listening. I hope the creators take this as a critique because there is a good chunk of this I like but listening to this with errors for two and a half plus hours for one singular Podcast is too much of a commitment if they decided to go off track and not get their basic facts right.
