176: Jake's Jeff Beck Gig & Future of Modelling

Hi Guys, sincerest apologies that it's been a while. Some of the chat might be 'out of date' somewhat but it's our takes on the goings on at the time. I hope you enjoy as we dive into Jake's all star Jeff Beck tribute gig and everything that came with it. Including the the gear used... which led us into a big ol' chat about guitar modellers, the Neural Amp Modeller and a little bit about the Bad Monkey saga towards the end. As always thanks for listening and for all the support. Catch you on the next one!

Posture, Physical Health & Guitar Tekkers

Posture, Physical Health & Guitar Tekkers

Ever young vampire Dan has double booked, so the oldies (Beebs, Tom and the Doctor) sit around to complain about ageing, failing bodies and how bad posture may or may not be getting in the way of guitar playing. On a positive note there are some interesting things discovered along the way. The extended Patreon edit includes (amongst other things) a detour into halloween horror movie recommendations.

Cam9762 ,

These guys have truly enhanced my playing and my life.

I’m really writing this as a thank you. I’ve been on the lookout for an audio-based method for learning practical intermediate-to-advanced guitar skills, which is surprisingly hard to come by. This is exactly what I needed. These guys are funny, engaging and they’re experts with a sense of humility. Also helps that they are fellow Sam Harris devotees. Cheers guys! Thanks for all you do.

Personal note: Beebs, episode 52 was one of the most personally meaningful podcasts I’ve ever heard. I’m 38, and having graduated from an American university 15 years ago with an “education” in jazz guitar, I have been in a very similar space for years. Your story literally brought tears to my eyes and gave me hope that as a terminally intermediate player I can still bounce back from equally terminal imposter syndrome to get out there and progress the way I’ve always wanted to, despite what I consider a failed education. Sincerely, thank you for sharing your story.

Only a little bit about guitar

Yet another podcast that’s not really about the subject but the hosts.
They spend more than half of each episode talking about traveling and catching a cold in Leeds.

Incredible musicians and content!

I have been following these guys since the beginning and just wanted to give a huge thank you to them. The content is always top notch and whether you are new to the guitar or have been at it forever there’s something to learn for everyone. Even after 40+ years with the guitar my playing has enormously improved so it appears “old dogs” do learn new tricks. So again I must say Thank You!
