    The Hartmann Report: How Trump, Paxton Can Overturn the Midterms

    While America slept, Donald Trump’s vigilante organizations, as we explain in our Jim Crow Reloaded video series, are challenging voters of color. In 2024, the Texas Trump front group True the Vote challenged over three-quarters of a million voters’ registrations. This year, they’re keeping the number secret. You can bet that Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, overseeing his own race for US Senator, will move to disqualify the ballots cast by vigilante-challenged voters. Do the vigilantes have to have proof that the voters are illegal? Nope, they just have to claim they have “reason to believe” voters are illegal. Funny, of the more than one million voters True the Vote and other Trump fronts have challenged over the past two election cycles, not one has been proven to be an “illegal” voter, which is, after all, a felony crime. Count on Paxton to also challenge absentee ballots. Folks, mailing in your ballot is risky business. For example, the GOP just won a case that if the voter licked the outside envelope shut but did not lick the inside envelope, the ballot can be tossed out. So, “if your tongue ain’t wet, you ain’t counted yet.” There are a million gotcha tricks to disqualify mail-in ballots from “no signature match” (e.g. you signed without a middle initial) to wrong color pen. And then there’s the provisional ballots. If you’re white, chances are you’ve never seen one of these. According to the official Ele ctions Assistance Commission records, in 2024, MORE THAN 436,000 PROVISIONAL BALLOTS WERE DISQUALIFIED. That alone re-elected Trump.     The Hartmann Report: How Paxton Will Steal Texas

    “If you had a real Justice Department, Ken Paxton would be in handcuffs, not just for his corruption, but for what he’s done to your right to vote. We have laws against this.” — Greg Palast speaking to Thom Hartmann on the Sept 30, 2026 edition of The Hartmann Report ***** In 2020, the Attorney General of Texas confessed to stealing the vote for Donald Trump in Texas. “Confess” is the wrong word, I suppose, because on the Steve Bannon podcast, Ken Paxton proudly crowed about his felonious attack on Black voters. It’s unbelievable, but if you watch our video, you’ll have to believe your eyes and ears. Paxton, not coincidentally, is running for the US Senate in Texas against James Talarico. Control of the Senate, control of our future, may come down to this Texas ballot robbery scheme. Here’s a bit of Paxton’s boasting confession: “Trump won by 620,000 votes in Texas. Harris County [Houston] mail-in ballots that they wanted to send out were 2.5 million. Those were all ‘illegal,’ and we were able to stop every one of them. Had we not done that, Donald Trump would have lost the election.” What few Americans know is that Houston, Harris County, has the largest Black population in the USA. Not Detroit nor Atlanta nor DC. If a candidate loses Houston big, they lose Texas. The only way Texas stays Red is if they can block the Black vote in Houston. (And no, Mr. Paxton, sending ballots to Black people is not “illegal.”) So, just eliminate mail-in voting and force Black voters to wait in line for hours and hours, and hey, you’ve kept the state Red.
