Andy Farnsworth joins KSL-TV to help audiences decipher #WhatToWatch for the weekend of February 21, 2025. A nice, feel-good family movie called “The Unbreakable Boy” leads the way as Zachary Levi plays the father of Austin, an autistic boy with brittle bone disease and an unbreakable spirit. “Win or Lose“ is a new series from Pixar on DisneyPlus that looks at a junior high softball championship game from the perspective of many different participants/watchers. If you're a basketball fan, “Court of Gold” on Netflix is a must-watch, taking you behind the scenes of the 2024 Olympic men's basketball tournament and letting you get to know the participants better and re-live the exciting final games. A new season of “Reacher “ on Prime Video continues the series' hot streak of addictive episodes featuring Alan Ritchson as the titular Jack ‘Reacher.’ Both Producer KellieAnn, who has read many of the books based on the series, and Andy find this show an action-packed hit! –and wish we didn't have to wait for weekly episodes. Andy Farnsworth joins KSL-TV to help audiences decipher #WhatToWatch for the weekend of Valentine's Day 2025, and there are a lot of options. First up is the latest from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with “Captain America: Brave New World,” and how you like it may depend on how you feel about not having Steve Rogers as Cap anymore. Making a threequel for the iconic animal, “Paddington in Peru,”takes the ever-so-polite bear back to his origins in South America as he searches for a missing bear who raised him as a cub. For RomCom vibes, “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy” brings back Renee Zellweger for one last outing in the role she's most famous for, only streaming on Peacock. And if you like your Valentine’s Day filled with action, Apple TVPlus has an interesting sci-fi mystery action romance thriller with “The Gorge.”  The brains behind Fan Effect are connoisseurs of categories surpassing nerdy with a goal to publish a weekly "What to Watch on the Weekend" minisode taken from KSL-TV's Friday segment, and two deep-dives a month on shows, creative works, artists, local events, and other fandom topics.  Based in the beautiful beehive state, Fan Effect celebrates Utah's unique fan culture as it has been declared The Nerdiest State in America by TIME, and is hosted by KSL Movie Show's Andy Farnsworth and KSL Podcasts' KellieAnn Halvorsen.  Listen regularly on your favorite platform, at kslnewsradio.com, or on the KSLNewsRadio App. Join the conversation on Facebook @FanEffectShow, or Instagram @FanEffectShow. Andy's KSL-TV #WhatToWatch: Oscar-winning actor Ke Huy Quan continues his Hollywood comeback with ‘Love Hurts’

Andy Farnsworth joins KSL-TV to help audiences decipher #WhatToWatch for the weekend of February 7, 2025.  Supporting Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan finally gets to lead a movie and an action-romance, no less! But  “Love Hurts” isn't maybe the best vehicle ever, yet there are some mindlessly fun moments if you can get past the mindless violence. The Oscar-nominated movie from Brazil called “I'm Still Here” is a foreign film worth the watch and awards received.  There is a new Amy Schumer comedy on Netflix called “Kinda Pregnant” that is more than kinda crass for those who enjoy that humor. Also on Netflix is a series called “Apple Cider Vinegar” with the brilliant Kaitlyn Dever in a true story about a woman who faked brain cancer and built a million-dollar empire on it. Andy's KSL-TV #WhatToWatch: ‘September 5’ is a tense and fascinating watch

Andy Farnsworth joins KSL-TV to help audiences decipher #WhatToWatch for the weekend of January 31, 2025. “September 5” is a tense, fascinating, tight 90-minute watch that looks at the beginnings of how modern news is covered...and the ABC SPORTS crew did it. It takes place entirely in the ABC broadcast studios in Munich '72, and it's worth your time to check out. For kids, but not as much for their parents, "Dog Man,” based on the hit books, is the pick for them.  For streaming, there’s the Amazon Prime Video streaming comedy “You're Cordially Invited” with Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon, which made Andy laugh more than he thought it would. And for Spider-Man and Marvel fans, “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” is a fun new animated series worth a watch on DisneyPlus.  The brains behind Fan Effect are connoisseurs of categories surpassing nerdy with a goal to publish a weekly "What to Watch on the Weekend" minisode taken from KSL-TV's Friday segment, and two deep-dives a month on shows, creative works, artists, local events, and other fandom topics.
