The Franchise

Great film podcast with a very funny, extremely clever, and bluntly honest duo of dudes trying to find needles in this haystack we call life. I don’t know why one of the podcasters, Logan, thinks he’s Marty Supreme (he never gave any reasons why they’re similar and I know he’s not a Jewish New Yorker from the 1950s who loves conning people and playing ping pong so Logan can you please clarify). Love if you did the Strangers but Greenland is okay too I guess.

I stopped listening to the pod over three years ago due to the change of host from Henry to Logan. I found Logan to be very naive about movies and seemed to side with Daniel on how to rate and rank movies. I spent the last six months catching up on what I had missed, and while Logan does still seem to agree with Daniel or kowtow to Daniel’s every whim, I do think Logan has learned more about movies than he used to and is better at hosting than how it was at the beginning. It also does seem like Logan isn’t really paying attention to a lot of the movies, as he usually doesn’t remember a lot of what Daniel is talking about and/or the plot of the movie. With all that said, I am back listening and would recommend the pod. Going to sign back up to the Patreon, too! Keep up the good work guys!

As someone who listens to way too many podcasts, this one stands out as my absolute favorite. The hosts are entertaining, funny, and knowledgeable—without ever slipping into the pretentious movie-snob vibe that turns me off in other shows. They just come across as genuinely good people who love what they do.
