Relevant context: Busy adult learning latin for pleasure (from scratch)
As a curious youth, I chaffed at traditional language pedagogy in America (I studied Spanish), which resulted in failed efforts of enthusiasm and execution. However, thanks to this podcast, I have rediscovered my zest for languages, and have made significant progress in Latin using the "living" method.
The conversational format of the podcast is perfect for fitting in listening during other activies (driving, walking, cooking), and the hosts do a wonderful job ensuring the main topic is accessible and well definied for listeners of all comprehension levels. Listening has improved my vocab, painlessly reinforced grammar, and has even inspired me to express myself in Latin on occasion. Every Monday when the new show is released, I listen in full on my drive to work.
In addition, through peer recommendations at the beginning of certain episodes, I have discovered a treasure trove of additional "living Latin" resources from all over the world: a tremedous asset to someone new to the language.
To Jason, Gus, and Justin: Thank you from the bottom of my soul for you work.
