The Action Comics Weekly Podcast

Solid comic book podcast that focuses on the largely forgotten but still significant “Action Comics Weekly”, helped greatly by a rotating series of guests who focus on each segment, whether it be Green Lantern to Wild Dog. The only downside is the final segment, which is mainly the main host reading listener reviews. However, instead of answering questions about the series and podcast, its mostly how people praise is show, so it comes off more as grandstanding. Outside of that, a nice listen but needs to cut down the last part.

Host Chad has decided to give a unique period in Action Comics history some attention, bringing along different co-hosts for different segments, which makes for a very fun listen! He is always striving to make an already great show even better, and the variety of characters makes for plenty of interesting discussions along the way of reviewing these comics. I'm planning to stay subscribed through the duration to hear different perspectives on these great comics, and to see who will be covering each segment with Chad, who is an excellent host dedicated to his craft.

Loving every second of these episodes. Three hours might seem intimidating but that is perfectly acceptable to cover issues of one of the best anthology titles of all time. Chad and his guests cover all kinds of approaches and aspects of these tales from a unique period in DC's history. This is not a show to be missed by any DC fans.

As I write this review, only the first episode of this podcast has aired, but I already know it is one of The Greats. You've got a great comic series: Action Comics Weekly. You've got great characters: Superman, Green Lantern, Deadman, the Blackhawks, and everyone's favorite murdering vigilante WILD DOG. You've got a great host: Chad Bokelman of the LanternCast (also a fantastic show). You've got funny, smart, insightful guests: Mark Marble, Ben Avery, Michael Bailey, Doug Zawisza, and Alan Middleton (and that's just in THE FIRST EPISODE!). All these elements converge to form the Perfect Storm of Podcasts: The Action Comics Weekly Podcast! I, for one, will never not listen. Unless Chad does something unthinkable... like get someone other than me to talk about Wild Dog. WILD DOG FOREVER!!!! #JayJonesWildDogExpert
