Locked On Nuggets - Daily Podcast On The Denver Nuggets

I’ve enjoyed this pod for a minute now. Big fan of the 24 hour NBA news cycle and Nuggets are my jam. Swipa Ryan and Matt all bring fresh perspectives. Shout out to Matt for his very level, forward-looking takes. He IDs as a contrarian I think and it’s kind of true but most of those opposing ideas are sound one way or another. He says he’s not a ‘fan’ but he obviously cares about the players, org, other fans etc so labels don’t mean much. Ryan is sharp and keeps track of great insights like rotations that you can’t really find elsewhere. Swipa brings awesome positive energy and he’s like the soul of the program. Keep up the great work dudes. 15k coming this season.

This is a tough listen. The hosts Matt, Swipa and Ryan have zero chemistry. Matt clearly thinks Ryan is an idiot and looks for every opportunity to tell him. There’s occasionally good analysis but I regularly have to stop listening because it’s too awkward and cringy.

I normally appreciate Matt’s perspective. I truly cannot believe that he would hop on a pod after one of the most crushing losses in my lifetime and start lecturing Nuggets fans about how we’re too soft on Jokic. It honestly felt like some social media beef he had spilled over into the pod and he was trolling us. Dude might need to unplug and touch some grass.

Unfortunately this isn’t just the Nuggets show but the whole network has gone down hill. Before the TEGNA purchase it was a place to get insightful daily commentary that wasn’t indistinguishable from the clickbait AI slop you see elsewhere on the internet. However, these days Locked On is like First Take but with boring nobodies without personalities instead of charismatic hosts with good joke writers. Locked On Nuggets is no exception to this rule. It is sad because it was the last good Nuggets podcast. I just can’t recommend it anymore. If you want to listen to a bad podcast that will sell you losing betting picks at least listen to one with high production values and interesting music.
