The story reportedly began in 2011 after the Ammons family moved into the house. What initially appeared to be an ordinary family home allegedly became the center of bizarre and frightening experiences. The family reported strange noises, unexplained footsteps, shadowy figures, swarms of flies appearing during the winter, and other disturbing activity. But the story became even more unbelievable when the family's children reportedly began experiencing frightening and unusual behavior. Police were called. Medical professionals became involved. Indiana's Department of Child Services investigated And eventually, a Catholic priest entered the story. Father Michael Maginot became involved with the family and reportedly performed religious rites and exorcisms connected to the alleged activity. Accounts of the case describe strange voices, unusual behavior, and incidents that witnesses interpreted as evidence of something far beyond an ordinary haunting. But what really happened?   Were the Ammons family experiencing a genuine paranormal event? Could psychological, environmental, or other natural explanations account for what happened? Or was something truly supernatural affecting the family? Jennifer and Joe explore both sides of the story without automatically accepting every paranormal claim as fact. Because one of the most important principles of paranormal investigation is this: **Unexplained does not automatically mean supernatural.** The case eventually attracted the attention of paranormal investigator Zak Bagans, who purchased the property and investigated it for his documentary **Demon House**. His experiences at the location added another layer to an already controversial case and helped transform the small house in Gary into one of the most famous alleged haunted locations in America. Then came the bulldozers. The house was demolished in 2016. The structure that had allegedly been the center of so much frightening activity was gone.
