Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Omar Khan talked about the possibility of trading up in the NFL Draft at NFL Owners' meetings this week. But would that be the right move in a deep draft class? It could be the only way the Steelers get a top flight cornerback or offensive tackle, both important needs. But if they did trade up, what's the best option? Devon Witherspoon? Christian Gonzalez? Peter Skoronski? Paris Johnson? Broderick Jones? And who would be the right trade partner? The Philadelphia Eagles have the tenth overall pick; could Andy Weidl build a bridge with his former team for a trade?
Trading back might also be a good option for the Steelers with how deep this draft class is. But what's apparent is that this year's NFL Draft could be the Steelers' best opportunity to be aggressive on draft day.
Finally, ESPN NFL Draft expert Jordan Reid released his 2.0 full seven round mock draft. He has the Steelers taking Darnell Wright and Brian Branch with their top two picks. Is that the best plan if the Steelers don't make trades?

Top option like Ohio State's Jaxon Smith-Njigba and USC's Jordan Addison might be too tough of a reach at 17th overall, but several players like Cedric Tillman could work in the middle rounds of the NFL Draft. What's the best plan of attack?

The Pittsburgh Steelers' head coach Mike Tomlin explained the team's plan to lean more on the run game in 2023 by pointing to the increasing trend of running the football across the NFL. The Steelers already have Najee Harris to lead the way at running back and have invested in the interior of the offensive line with Mason Cole, James Daniels and Isaac Seumalo. The next move has to be an early round pick at offensive tackle.
Also, Zach Gentry was re-signed at tight end and Omar Khan added a swing tackle in La'Raven Clark. These moves continue to balance the roster. It's a different pace of how the Steelers have added players, but it's a very similar philosophy to the days of Kevin Colbert.
