The Prestige (Magically Transported From Behind The Paywall Edition)

    Uh-oh! What’s all this, then?

We just went to edit the Mutiny on the Bounty vs The 39 Steps episode and discovered that most of Cat’s audio was missing. We won’t get a chance to rerecord that episode until next week, so, to hold you over until then, we’ve decided to release one of our paywalled What Would Hitchcock Do? episodes. It’s The Prestige (2006). Enjoy!

A wee hitch

I see what you did there. While this free version features good—but somewhat lesser films—a visit to the link offers the entirety of Hitchcock’s oeuvre… at a cost. This podcast, though entertaining, is what’s known as a honeypot. Three stars for the bait and switch.

Interesting

They’re charismatic and it is interesting hearing different opinions. I think some of their problems with the Hitchcock films would either be explained and/or justified if they did more research ahead of their podcasts….

Limited Film Knowlegde

Despite engaging and intelligent banter, these two know shockingly little about film for having a film podcast. I was occasionally appalled at their ignorance. Quotes like: “All the women in Alien look the same to me,” and numerous other examples, had me shaking my head.
